Actual announcers for once

This little tidbit in Ed Sherman's sports media column in the trib (scroll down some) about the upcoming game vs. Buffalo caught my eye:

The Bears' bandwagon is beginning to grow. Nearly half of the televisions in Chicago were tuned to the Bears-Seattle game Sunday night. CBS is catching on. The network will use its top team, Jim Nantz and Phil Simms, for Sunday's Bears-Buffalo game.
There have been many, many games where we've been treated to the C and Z-team play-by-play teams. The likes of Bill Maas won't be gracing our ears for once. Nice to see the networks have finally noticed. Usually we only get the A-team announcers by default because of MNF.

Does that mean that will
be their spotlight game?

Usually skins games come on FOX down here, so I might actually catch that one.

Then hopefully
Jax toasts the Jets, so they will change the game.

Do you get...
CBS games when the Skins are on Fox?

by Chad @ Windy City Gridiron on Oct 6, 2006 12:33 PM CDT up reply actions

Each week
I get a combo of either two FOX games and one CBS game or vice versa.

Generally the Skins are always on FOX.  A few times a year, when FOX only is showing one game, the Skins game will turn up on CBS.

buck does the
pre game show and then hands off to Meneffee(sp?), who runs the half time show while Buck does the game.

i know ill get torn up, but...
I really like the radio guys. I listen to the radio guys and mute the TV regardless of who is announcing. We got this sweet device that allows you to delay the radio feed so it synch's up with the TV feed. I haven't listened to TV guys for a Bears game all year and I am better for it.
first the Rush...now the Bears.

Why not?
I'd rather listen to Bears fans call the game than the ass hats that the network picks.

do that occasionally
I do that when I can, but this season I've been watching games at friends places, so the ability to do it has been diminished. It used to be necessary since the network guys would routinely trash the Bears, even in years that they were relatively good.

please tell me more
Do you use Tivo or something like it to match em up?
I'd bet a lot more people would listen to the radio if it matched up with TV time.

i don't recall what it's called, but..
basically what happens, is the device is hooked up to a radio. The device has a harddrive or some kind of storage device which can hold 10 seconds of audio. The device has a slidey thing in front to adjust how much you want to delay the feed. This allows you to synch the radios audio signal  with the TV video signal. sorry i don't have anymore information as to where to buy one or anything. It was actually my dad that bought it. Definitely comes in handy as the feed is delayed slightly with normal TV and is only worse with the digital cable feed.

This is definitely it, but boy is that salty.  There has to be a cheaper unit out there.
