Bears could rest players

It is highly likely that Brian Griese will see some playing time as early as this week at Detroit.  The Bears will not shut down the team as Coach Smith believes there is still a lot to work on especially on defense, but some injured starters could be given the extra time off.

The names mentioned for possible time off are John Tait and Thomas Jones.

It will be nice to see Benson get a run at lead back.  We really need to know what we have come off season.

And Jamal Lewis is going against Pitt!!!
I've been waiting all year for this day. Somehow I made it to my finals of Fantasyland and it's either $300 or $75. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeze tell me Jones won't even suit up. I know that's unlikely, but I'd love it. And please don't let AP "split" carries with Benson like Ced has been doing with TJ the last month.

Okay, sorry. I know no one cares. I'm just excited. $300!!! I was winning by five with 4 minutes left in the Cinci/Indy game and my cuz had Carson Palmer. I thought I was goner. Luckily, Marvin Lewis is an absolute horrible coach, and I no longer have any wonder why their team is so bad.

But yeah, I'm still excited.

Do what i did...
I'm in the finals of my league and me and the other guy split the money 50/50.

Does anyone know...
if TJ wasn't playing due to injury at the end of Sunday's game? It seemed the team was running Benson out there consistently through the 4th quarter and OT.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Benson can do given a whole game to work without jeopardizing the team's chemistry by starting a "running back controversy."

I believe he did
tweak his ankle and didn't come back in.

if the bears are smart...
they will use rex as the 3rd qb on sunday, and let both griese and orton get some of the rust off. i would rather have grossman play outdoors in the new years eve game, and be as "weather-ready" as possible for the divisional playoff.

would have no problem with benson and peterson splitting the running back slot; just want benson to get the greater number of carries, especially in the 4th quarter. also want to see 3 or 4 more snaps with hester at wr.

on defense, just stay healthy and vanilla. no reason to put anything on game film that is being saved for the playoffs. substitute as freely as the roster allows; all hands will be needed on deck before this season is over.

i'm just hoping Lovie gives me the call..
I could play OLB. My size and strength aren't up to par but the intangibles...sorry bout that. anyways, I wouldn't mind seeing some of the backups start to get more time, but not too much. Last year in Minnesota there were some guys who hardly ever left the field. They got fatigued, got hurt and were worse for it.
first the Rush...now the Bears.

Let me guess: you're gutsy, feisty and have deceptive speed?

in reality i'd look like a kicker. out there.
I'm all of 6"1 or maybe 6"2 and weigh at most 205. Looking at the roster, I'm roughly as big as Todd Johnson. I just lack the ability to make grown men weep when I hit them.

>Let me guess: you're gutsy, feisty and have deceptive speed?

If by deceptive speed, you mean deceptively slow, then yes, yes I do.

first the Rush...now the Bears.

i realize
that todd is not a kicker, but considering athletic ability I'd say I'm more inline with a kicker (minus the whole ability to kick the bar hella far)
first the Rush...now the Bears.

I say...
let rex play the first half of both games and have him throw with reckless abandon.  Really let him air it out an get some throws in there.

Meh, same with Griese.  You never know about injuries and I want that guy fresh.
