Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

Chalk one up for Hester

Consider some numbers for this years vaunted rookie class:

Joesph Addai-1017 yds, 7TDs , 1 receiving TD
Reggie Bush- 8 total TDs
Laurence Maroney- 6 total TDs
Marques Colston-1038 yds, 8TDs
Marice Jones-Drew-895 yds, 12TDs, 2 receiving TDs
Devin Hester- 6 return TDs

but their is one think only Hester was able to achieve this year.  He made the Pro Bowl.  Yes, I understand not competing in the same position as LT or LJ or whoever else makes the difference, but is still counts.

I'd like to consider myself the Windy City Gridiron Philadelphia Correspondant, and the attitude out here is fierce.  The Eagles are the new Saints who were the new Cowboys who were the new Bears.

People are lickin their chops to get a shot at the Bears out here.  Because, as they say, "the Bears don't know who their quarterback is"

Completely ridiculous, any reasonably-thinking Bears fan who watched the game saw Griese go in and thought "Oh okay, Lovie must have just wanted Rex for 3 quarters"  Why would he take Grossman after he threw for nearly 200 yards and no picks...?

I've been pulling for the Eagles ...
if only in the last game to counteract the 'tony romo is teh God' horseshit coming out of the Salisbury-headed sports paparazzi the past month or so.  But I'm kind of pulling for Garcia, I think he's a decent QB and I like the fact that they haven't laid down after McNabb went out for the season.

But the Eagles got some ground to cover before they get a chance at the Bears.  And methinks they might be peaking too soon.  But I'll keep pulling for them for now ...

Plus ...
that Marky Mark is one helluva kill-man on special teams.

Um... yeah...
I was a little worried Gross was in there so long. All it takes is one pissed off player and a cheap shot and maybe Grossman goes down. Then you got Griese with only 8 pass attempts all year...

It's worked out so far. I'd REALLY prefer not to see Rex in the second half against the Pack.
