The real issue here is the Bears need to have somebody in place with the combine closing fast. CB is a possibility in the first round and the DBs coach should be in place to help make that decision.

That was enough for the team to send out a press release announcing his hiring Tuesday, but plans changed when English called Thursday and said he was not coming after all. He reneged to remain at Michigan, where he was promoted to defensive coordinator.
