I am sure I missed a few. There are a few names on the list the Bears might at least look at, but no one I would expect them to put a full court press for.

There's an astounding number of physically gifted college tight ends who don't make it in the NFL. And most who eventually do well in the league don't have great rookie years. The Bears have tight end written all over them for one of the first two picks they have in the draft (and if they can get that Pope kid from Georgia, I'd grab him). Having said that, how many times last year did you want to see a veteran tight end with good hands and an ability to get open on third down in the game for the Bears? Jeb Putzier. That's all I'm saying. Fifteen to 20 additional first downs the Bears could have had last year, plus an occasional other play.

Sad for Brad...

As an Illini fan, I am sorry to see Brad Hopkins get cut. I don't know how much tread he has on him so I'm guessing he's done with football. I am glad to see that he had a great pro career.
