Ex-Tampa Bay QB Brian Griese was in Chicago Sunday to speak with the Bears about their backup QB spot. Ron Turner, due to family obligations was unable to attend, will fly down to Tampa today to speak with him. If all goes well Chicago could offer their initial contract.
'I don't think there is any question the Bears are an interesting situation,'' Ralph Cindrich, Griese's agent said. ''There is a large amount of interest on Brian's part. He'll [meet with Turner], and we'll see where things go from there."
Signing Griese would be ideal for us. Not only as just having a quality backup, but if Rex continues to have a tough time even staying on the field, Griese is good enough to either become the permanent starter or hold us over a year or two until a replacement can be found.
