WCG Mock Draft

I am going to step in and draft one.

#7 Oakland Raiders: Jay Cutler, QB, Vanderbilt

This is a hard one to call.  Before a few weeks ago, it would have been a lock for the Raiders to take a QB, but then they signed Aaron Brooks and are paying him starter money.  Brooks isn't an upgrade passing wise over Collins.  He is more mobile, but I don't think he is going to turn this around.  He is just to steer the ship until the rook is ready.  Why Cutler over Young? Low wonderlic score.  Awkward throwing motion.  Also, if I have Moss on my team, I want my QB looking to throw that ball every chance he gets, I don't want him cosidering pulling it down and taking off.

Buffalo is on the clock...

New Orleans-D'Brickashaw Ferguson
Tennessee-Matt Leinart
NY Jets-Mario Williams
Green Bay- A.J. Hawk

Buffalo selects Winston Justice. The Bills lost some linemen, cut Mike Willimas and are looking to upgrade this position. In my opinion, Justice will end up being as good as Ferguson when its all said and done as he's extremely athletic with great feet. He just needs to improve his strength. This kid will be great.

With the ninth pick in the 2006 NFL draft...
...the Detroit Lions select - Tye Hill, CB Clemson

Detroit has major holes at corner and guard.  Because of this and bevy of protests from the Lions faithful, Matt Millen will utilize a great deal of personal restraint along with a few hallucinogens to not draft Santonio Holmes or Chad Jackson.  Any guard would be a major reach at #9.   Despite his size and speed, Jimmy Williams is a natural safety, so the Lions will go with the best true corner available.
