Reports are surfacing that second day selection at FB, J.D Runnels has a real good chance at starting this year for the Bears.
...the Bears' sixth-round selection in the recent NFL draft, could open the season as the team's starting fullback. "He's another guy with a lot of speed," Bears coach Lovie Smith told the Chicago Tribune. "He ran in the 4.5s; for a fullback you don't see that very often. He ha good hands, as we were able to see this week [at rookie minicamp]." Added Bears GM Jerry Angelo: "When you go into that second day and feel you have potential starters, you have to feel pretty good about your draft."
The Bears currently carry two fullbacks, but their best, Bryan Johnson, has had injury problems the last two years.
