It is fact and you can't argue it. When Brian Urlacher and Mike Brown are on the field our defense is that much better. Problem is Brown has a hard time staying healthy, leaving the Bears with little depth at the position. As it turns out they might already have a replacement and he is already on the roster.
Not that they are looking to replace Brown, but with his penchant to be injured and an eventual possibility that they might need to find a more permanent replacement, 2nd year safety Chris Harris has moved to strong safety while Brown is recovering. The Bears have a trio of young promising safeties in Harris, McGowan and rookie Danieal Manning. The Bears have been looking for ways to get Manning on the field and perhaps this is it. If anything to spell Brown for a few plays to increase his longevity.
