Those two passes were completely different; they had similar outcomes, but the throws were not even close to being the same.

Benson's Last Chance

I'd say his effort today was slightly more inspired than what we're used to - I'll cite two plays:

Near our own end zone he took a dump off, avoided a defender (3rd time this season) and made a huge first down
I thought there was another play, but I saw him hit the hole hard a couple times

Overall though, he ended with 29 carries (just give him the damn ball) for 76 yards and a TD that belongs to the defense. 2.62 YPC I'd say he failed in his last chance, but I will give him credit for not coughing up the football and catching a couple of passes.

That said, I don't think we have good options. AP is still a backup at best, but he looks great catching the ball out of the backfield.

just for the fact

that peterson actually poses somewhat of a threat out of the backfield, i'd rather give him the majority of the snaps. at least the defense will be a teensy bit off balance wondering if peterson will run or if we'll pass. when benson is in, 80% of the time it is a run it seems like (alert: pulling percentages out of my ass).
