In Rex we Trust

First, the bears could have easily won the last seven games.... think about it.

If this game wasnt evidence enough, we need Rex  more than Rex needs us. He was the lone bright spot today on offense. He has most surely matured as a quarterback and I see him only getting better. I hope Angelo resigns Rex and Benard to long term deals.Add Bradley, Olsen, Hester and Benson and I think there is a future for this offense.

Lovie Smith deserves some serious blame for  the results this year and maybe his job. Rex has improved his overall game with Pep Hamilton and I can't believe we had to witness the horrible, unathletic Griese experiment.(And if you have been watching the games,I dont need a follow up sentence)  Lovie really dropped the ball on that one... haha. It was a panic move and I think the current form of Grossman says enough. He apparently runs out of patience with Rex but is able to wait 12 games to bench Archuleta and Fred Miller. He and Turner refuse to get  Mark Bradley the ball and instead choose Hester who has yet to gain  any productive yards on offense(And don't bring up the minnesota game). Everytime he catches those lateral passes,it's a 3 to 6 yard loss. He gets the running game working just in time for our playoff hopes to get crushed and Benson to suffer a season ending injury... clutch.

Look, this team looks like a contender with Rex at quarterback. For some reason our D plays better and they get more takeaways. With less guys in the box our backs can break some longer runs.  I just hate Lovie for benching this guy. You cant change the face of a super bowl team for a guy who has never won a playoff game. Going to the super bowl should guarantee your job the following year.

With the influx of young qbs taking over these days, I can only hope the Chicago Bears and the fans learn to embrace Rex. We've got our quarterback for the future and there does not need to be another discussion about it. Discuss the bad and I will show you the good.

The turnovers of last year are youth but the wins and the throws are pure talent.

Lets not get fooled with the Free Agent mystique. They never work out in this town, no matter who they are.
This year sucks, I get it. But can you imagine how good this team can be after going through this season. With a some better health, a productive O line and a maturing Rex at quarterback, this team can win alot of games. In essence they're battle tested.
What more can they experience?

i really see
a huge difference in grossman after hes come back. he looks like a qb ready to break out but the people around him arent letting him. for example today he should have had around 400 passing yards with no drops n 2 tds. yes he did make some over throws but there was a 25 mph wind blowing n its not like any qb can complete every pass.

what?
this team looks like a contender at qb, but they lose today, win last week becasue of hester, and lose the week beofrein seattle? even if none of that is his fault this looks far from a contending team.

eh
i think the general feeling around chicago is gonna be "rex is rex, and we are stuck with him for better or worse". i like rex and there are no better options for next season and i look forward to having him back. now can we coax moose into retirement, resign berrian and find another receiver who can catch the ball on a consistent basis? we should have traded for chris chambers or something.

hhmmm
I do believe we should keep Grossman. We defiantly need a new O line, and maybe some D-men. Benson isnt showing what hes made of which is depressing since hes suspose to be great. i guess we can keep him for  another year or two, i would rather see rex throw anyways which we should replace moose, berrian dropped so many passes this year i don't have faith anymore, but hes good with rex.  Turner needs to GO!!

berrian and rex
will be back for lack of better options. hopefully moose retires or they find some more faith in bradley or something. we definately need someone opposite berrian.

hope benson is cut, anyone know a list of free agent rbs? as far as drafting one, mcfadden or mendenhall do it for me, wouldn't hate to see either of them in bears uniforms.

McFadden
will be a top 5 pick if not the number 1 pick.

Turner
Michael Turner is the back-up for SD. He will be a free agent next year, and has local ties (from North Chicago; graduated from NIU). I'd like to see the Bears make a move for him in the off-season.

rb
i think the chargers second string rb is going to be free next year and i guess hes suppose to be as good as LT but never gets the chance

yea
I am happy to say this is definitely not Rex's fault. He has played real well the last couple games. When they threw the ball, they drove down the field! Peterson played well too, but I really think there aren't many running backs who can flourish in this offense. It is destined for failure with its lack of creativity & aging O-line. A receiver screen or flare pass to Hester is not creative! The Bears need a better offensive game plan (similar to the opening drive of the Giants game!) and some sticky gloves for the receivers. #1 in the NFL for dropped passes.

Team Effort
All in all, the Bears lost this game because of the entire team.  The defense couldn't stop the run, the o-line couldn't block; particularly the 2 screens to Peterson that the lineman missed the block.  The last one being the more crucial.  It looked like Peterson had a lot of room to run if he got free.  Drops, Drops, Drops.  Rex's inability to step up in the pocket.  Coaching.  All of this contributed to this loss to the Giants.  The entire season as well could be blamed on all of these.  We had a chance to solidify a spot in the wild card race and we blew it.  Unfortunate end to a lowsy season.
GO BEARS!!!!!
