CHICAGO BEARS VS. WASHINGTON REDSKINS -Game Thread

(5-7)
VS.

(5-7)

SITE: FEDEX FIELD
DATE: DECEMBER 5, 2007
TIME: 7:15 CST
STATION: NFLN

The Bears and the Redskins come into this game 2 games under .500, yet amazingly they are still in the playoff race, though only by a thread.  Loser of this game can start looking to play spoiler and to the draft.  Winner can hang onto the hope and pray for a ton of help.

Grossman Done
definately didn't look good, knees shouldn't bend like that. now we are frickin' stuck with griese. i think orton banged lovie's wife or daughter or something.

A skins player
just caught Grossman the wrong direction on his knee.  He walked off under his own power, but don't know if he will be back yet.

rex out for the game
our o-line is absolutely horrible. that he was able to walk off the field tells me rex didn't tear ligaments. probably a knee sprain. hopefully its not too bad and he plays again this season. but damn, we need some new blood on the line.

by guy incognito on Dec 6, 2007 7:37 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

you could walk
the rest of your life with a torn acl.

by mike b on Dec 6, 2007 7:38 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

i'm not sure about that...
but you could at least walk off the field for sure.

Antonio Garay is now out
with an ankle injury.  He was clipped by Samuels.

thanks for the update
i am one of the 20 people with this channel and i still can't watch being at work. got the game channel going but that's just the score.

any update on grossman
i cant stand the griese/turner combo

by Jbasic89 on Dec 6, 2007 8:09 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

he is likely done man
it didn't look good at all, he was walking off but certainly struggling. he immediately unbuckled his shoulder pads and untucked his shirt. i have a feeling he tore something and will spend the whole offseason rehabbing again.

(we may be able to get him cheapER if teams know he won't be healthy and able to practice all offseason)

by lopey986 on Dec 6, 2007 8:13 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

according to the bears website
6:16 PM - Bears inactives: Orton (3rd QB), Vasher, Roach, McClover, Beekman, Hass, Adams

fucking morons.

by mike b on Dec 6, 2007 8:10 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

orton
is emergency qb, i'm pretty sure they can play him but he has to remain in the game or something? not sure exactly how that works.

by lopey986 on Dec 6, 2007 8:12 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

i think hes inactive unless griese gets hurt too
but i think u might be right becuase i remember hearing that somwhere

by Jbasic89 on Dec 6, 2007 8:19 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

i have no idea
i just think i remember hearing that he is eligible to play but if he comes in he has to stay in unless he gets hurt or something. i could be making that up too.

by lopey986 on Dec 6, 2007 8:22 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Collinsworth
said that if Brunell and Orton come in before the 4th they have to play the rest of the game.

by guy incognito on Dec 6, 2007 8:29 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Cooley and Campbell both down
They might want to just call this game, so both teams can field a full team next week.

Man.
And to think I had started to believe it might be fun to watch a game against a team as bad as we are.

injury's
likely that rex tore something. campbell looked like a dislocated kneecap. didn't see the garay injury, but a cart ride normally isn't a good sign. cooley's injury at least looked minor.

I don't think he's been drop prone.  No where close to Berrian's level.  He's got what?  3-4 drops on the year?

What a f'ing catch on that TD.  Unreal.  Special player there.

Grossman's Fumbles
This is for DeJackson who keeps saying Grossman has fumbled only once.

Grossman has actually dropped the ball five times since in the four games he's been back. However, the team has recovered four of them. So, please stop staying he's only fumbled once. That part of the his game has NOT improved at all.

by tyger1147 on Dec 6, 2007 9:41 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

yep
off the top of my head he dropped the first snap and had three dropped balls in the seahwawks game.

by Jbasic89 on Dec 6, 2007 9:49 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Did you read what I wrote?
I said that ESPN had him charted as having only 2 fumbles all year, but that I thought that was too low.  As in, I didn't believe that he had that few.  In fact, that was my entire reason for NOT putting fumbles in my diary...because I didn't think the numbers were reliable.  Geez!

by dejackso on Dec 6, 2007 11:01 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I didn't read every word you wrote...
...but this is the comment that got me.

http://www.windycitygridiron.com/comments/2007/12/3/102926/093/27#27

So... maybe it's semantics, but in my mind, the way you typed it, you're saying he's only dropped the ball one time, not five.

time to officially welcome the offseason
the o-line was atrocious again, per usual. absolutely no holes to run through, and they got rex killed early. i hope rex isn't done for the year, because we probably want to see more from him...i'd rather not draft a QB early since we have so many other needs (OL who can block, safeties who can tackle/cover/not get injured on freak plays, WR who can catch balls, DTs who can stay healthy)

by guy incognito on Dec 6, 2007 10:37 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

thank god
at least we have no chance at all, not even a mathematical sliver like before this game. finally the torture is over, here is to lots of talk about the qb position for the next....8 months.
