grossman - no surgery needed

whew...at least he won't have to spend the offseason rehabbing from surgery. though it seems certain that he's done for the year. bring on orton - season's over, we need to see if he can at least be the #2 next year. i also think grossman returning is a lock...nobody is going to give him a big contract. we lose nothing by giving him a short, incentive-based deal.

not necessarily a bad thing either
if he had played out the season and continued his 3:1 td/int ratio and showed good decision making his stock would have rose? risen? a little bit. when you look at some of the qbs who have started in the nfl this year you gotta figure there would be a few teams out there willing to roll the dice on a high risk/decent reward QB like Grossman. i think this actually plays into the bears hands nicely, could get him a little cheaper and maybe have less competition for resigning him.
