WCG Mock Draft- Atlanta (#8)

8. Atlanta - LaRon Landry, S, LSU

What can be said about Landry? Well first of all he's probably the top Safety to come out of college recently. He's had a good college experience playing for a bowl team in all four years he was at college and averaged 3 interceptions a year (12 total) for over 150 yards. At the Combine this year he impressed scouts with an amazing 4.35 on the 40-yard dash, he has pretty good size for a safety-not too small at 6'0 1/2, 213 pounds, but not too big either-and averaged about 79 tackles a year.

Meanwhile, Atlanta is probably still looking for a defensive end with Patrick Kerney being signed by the Seahawks and Jon Abraham's questionable health but with the two best being drafted probably before Landry, I think the Falcons will go for another big problem that they have and that's the secondary.  That's why I think they'll draft Landry because he's the best there is and a good pick for #8.

Drafter- Coach Owens

There is zero chance
that 8 picks will go by without Adrian Peterson's name being read.

There is zero chance
that the Browns will take Calvin Johnson.  That pick in this mock screwed up the rest of the picks...

agreed
that pick is about as likely to happen as the bears taking a middle linebacker with their first pick.

If I were the Browns GM...
I would go hard after David Carr or Trent Green, and would definitely not overlook Johnson in the #3 spot.

I agree it's not likely to happen, but I don't think there's NO possibility.
