Damn....

"He compromised the credibility of our organization. We made it clear to him that he had no room for error. Our goal was to help someone through a difficult period in his life, but the effort needs to come from both sides. It didn't and we have decided to move on," general manager Jerry Angelo said in a statement.
results on his blood alcohol content aren't available yet
Wow...
Based on the available information, I find it odd that that they are cutting him.
But then again, they may have talked to Tank, who told them, "Yea, I was trashed."
But damn... this sucks. Tank wasn't a Pro-Bowler, but he wasn't a scrub either. He will be missed.

my guess is
1-getting his dumb ass on probation
*2-getting his dumb ass arrested, while on probation, for keeping weapons w/o permit(s)
*3-while awaiting trial (and assuring the team that he would lay low) going to a bar at which his acquaintance and bodyguard was murdered
4-getting himself suspended for 7-9 games
5-drinking and driving within two months of BEING RELEASED FROM JAIL after assuring the team he would be on his best behavior.
*it's important to note that he did these things while the Bears were in a playoff push.
Is it D-U-M dumb that he gets waived even though he wasn't over the legal limit? Yes. Are the Bears/Angelo/Smith the idiots. No.
Tank has continually let himself, his team and management down. He has also needlessly risked the lives of others.
Would it be great to have him on our team? Of course it would. Can you trust him at all? Nope.
Imagine the effect on the team after he does yet another idiotic thing. These guys are professionals, but it doesn't help focus to be talking about a moron and why he's still on the team.

Couldn't agree more.
Tank should be pissed because he wasn't drunk and driving. But the thing is... if he's going to drive home, he needed to not drink a drop (it's not impossible to abstain for a single night, is it?) or he needed to pre-arrange a ride home. It's as plain and simple as that.
The Bears can't trust that he won't be out drinking again (or doing something else) when he rejoins the team. And that would mean an even longer suspension. Good move.
He gone
good thing...
puke
Finally....
Better before camp, then week 10. He did us a favor by being so dumb, so soon.
