CHICAGO BEARS VS. SAN DIEGO CHARGERS- Game Thread

GAME: Chicago Bears vs. San Diego Chargers
DATE:September 9, 2007
TIME: 3:15 CST
LOCATION:QUALCOMM STADIUM
TV:FOX
So the real season finally starts. None of this lame Colts vs. Saints stuff. It will be bright and sunny as always as the defending NFC Champs face off against the leagues regining MVP in LaDanian Tomlinson.
Both teams come in with extremely good defenses, so this came could be a 10-7 type game, but there is also a ton of offensive weapons on both sides, so the defenses will be tested.
Be sure to stop into the comments section and let us know you are here. Now would be a good time for everybody who has been just hanging around to give a shout out.

Game face on...
OH MY GOD!!! I'm so excited.
And even if they get blown out, it doesn't matter because the NFC sucks balls anyway!
Dhe Bears!!!!!
It's here........
GO BEARS!
Time
I think if we win the Time of Possession we win the game. Rex has to keep the offense on the field and not give LT the chance to wear down our defense.

come on oline, its going to come down to you.
Shawne Merriman...
i guess that explains why he feels it necessary to pump enough drugs into him to kill an actual elephant.
Don't forget...

oops...sorry...what I meant was...

No big suprise...
-Mike Brown. Can this guy EVER stay on the field? He played 3 quarters and he "received some bad news" from the training staff. How long will he be out this time and how long will we continue to pay this guy big money and rely on him?
-The running game. Do the Bears only have 1 running play in their playbook? Halfback dive into the back of your blockers? I think i gave Adrian Peterson a bit more credit than he deserved as an outside runner because i never once saw him try to bounce it outside. We are really going to miss Thomas Jones ability to do just that, recognize when everyone is clammed up in front of him and bounce it around the edge. One other issue with the running game, after both Benson and Petersons fumbles, the went back to the bench and sulked. The entire time. Peterson SAT DOWN on the bench and put his head between his legs and didn't move the rest of the game. Is this really how our workhorses are going to act when they fumble the ball once? I want a guy who fumbles, realizes he made a mistake and goes back out there and at least tries to make up for it. Angelo needs to trade Alex Brown for a runner, asap.
-Bad Luck. Seriously, the McGowan play, ridiculously bad luck. The Grossman interception, a little bit more of that one rests with Berrian than Grossman in my opinion, as well as the fox guys opinion. Berrian had given up on the play long before that ball was in the air, i guess he didn't get the memo that you should run 100% every play, wether you think the ball is comin your way or not.
All in all, it seems pretty obvious how the season will play out. If we never develop a running game it is going to be a long season because our defense is going to be on the field WAY to often and i don't care how good or how in shape they are, if they are on the field as much as they were today in all their games we will rarely have a shot at winning. Here is hoping they figure somethin out this week.
on the field as much as they were today
*Too many turnovers - especially during a drives that were moving the ball
*Defence being on the field WAY too long, resulting in being worn down in the end.
And yet even with all that, the Bears D held SD to a mere 60 yds. rushing, and only 25 for the best RB in the NFL...
Think we could trade Benson for Jones straight up with the Jets? :-)
