I know everyone is ripping Briggs and Berrian for wanting to leave, but based on this comment from The Chicago Bears Website, maybe Berrian is considering staying.
General manager Jerry Angelo and coach Lovie Smith have said they hope to retain all of the Bears' free agents, but both know that roster turnover is inevitable. Angelo doesn't like using the franchise tag, but hasn't ruled out placing it on Berrian. The wide receiver, meanwhile, hopes to return and negotiate with the Bears before the start of free agency.
"I'm definitely going to listen to see what they have to say and what they really want to do and what's in the future for me here," Berrian said. "If we can't come to an agreement on that, then I'll test the market.
"I really don't want to go anywhere. I like this city. I like where I live and I'd hate really having to pick up and move."
Now I know some may think this is just a PR thing, but I think he do he'll stay if he gets a fair deal. Also, don't put it past Angelo to franchise tag him either.
