Mark Bradley

The following fanpost is unlinked and uncredited.  If you happen to know or come by where this is from, please pass it on.

Thanks

Mark Bradley, Chiefs: Bradley just keeps getting better as the weeks go  by and now has to be seen as a legitimate fantasy play in leagues of all sizes.  I've highlighted him as a potential pickup for a few weeks now, but he's now officially on most fantasy owner’s radars after his 9 catch, 81 yard, 1 touchdown performance against San Diego.  Bradley is the 9th best receiver in the NFL over the past three weeks with 18 catches, 188 receiving yards, 2 touchdowns receiving and another passing.

Tell me why the Bears cut him again?

He wasn't doing anything with us!

He was constantly injured and he couldn’t even crack our ship-shop group of WR’s. That would be why.

Let’s also look at how many receptions he had against San Diego. 9? He wouldn’t get 9 in a game with the Bears.

Where does the problem lie?

Personally I think the problem lies with our coaches/quarterbacks then :)

by cltcprd on Nov 11, 2008 5:38 PM CST up reply actions

Is that really his fault or was he not given a fair shake by management?

We were consistently told that he is injured and/or not able enough to get onto the field, but perhaps the Bears just mis-evaluated another offensive player.

by dakoose on Nov 11, 2008 8:46 PM CST up reply actions

he didn't work hard. lazy ass.

posted that months ago.

He’s a lucky S.O,B, his one touchdown against the jets in the superbowl year the corner fell down on his ten yard button hook, bradley took it for a touchdown. sunday the corner fell down on a double move that never happened, touchdown.

by mike b on Nov 11, 2008 7:13 PM CST reply actions

and

he had one against the giants the week before that in a 2nd half rally and deep bomb in the season ending game against the packers from griese in the second half and if i recall he had one against the saints in the finale last year beating the corner on a go route.

he was a good player who was an intergal part of the offense before he got hurt and bernard took off in 2006. so in my opinion i thought he was unlucky with the injuries and then never could earn his job back after bernard improved, moose and rashied werent going anywhere and hester was added to the mix.

by rahulsriram on Nov 11, 2008 8:58 PM CST up reply actions

he was unlucky with injurues

but he also never worked, thought that he was untouchable because of where he was drafted.

where...

… did you plagiarize this from?

no...

… but if he is copying and pasting from another site, he should at least give credit. Otherwise that is known as copyright infringement, which is something that Kos and the rest of the bosses around here tend to be concerned about.

It seems quite clear that he copied this from some fantasy site.

Agreed.

Not arguing the validity of your post. He/she needs to post a link and give credit where credit is due. I was just makin a joke.

By the way, you do a pretty damn good job of bringing moderation to a place you don’t moderate. Might have to promote you to Citing Police. :)

Take a chill pill...

Copyright infringement? Are you serious? I’m never claimed it was my own and I can’t think of another forum on the web that would be concerned of this.

If I posted copyright pictures or something that may be different.

by cltcprd on Nov 14, 2008 1:59 PM CST up reply actions

Posting it without a link is claiming it as your own

Think about writing a paper. You’re not “claiming” you passed someone’s work as your own, but what if you got caught?

I'M A MAN! I'M 22!

Benefits

I’m not benefiting at all for creating a fan post, so there are no legal ramifications about being caught. All I’m doing is creating discussion.

you are not...

… but an easy argument could be made that WCG is. WCG is liable.

Speaking of which, cltcprd:

Please reply underneath my post with the link where you got that quote. I’ll attach it to your post so everything will be kosher.

It was in email

But also here: http://fantasy.easports.com/reports/news/ea/jostresh_pickup_111108_wr.asp

I’ve never used a forum that requires crediting an author. I don’t think I ever said It was my opinion either. There is no legal ramifications from posting this IMO.

by cltcprd on Nov 14, 2008 1:56 PM CST up reply actions

Thank you for the link.

Sorry, we do the right thing here. I wasn’t trying to get on your ass about it, but here, we link information from other sources.

Actually.. there ARE legal ramifications.

Moderation

Have you ever moderated a forum? I would like to know what legal ramifications there are about not crediting a source, because I’m pretty damn sure 90% of the internet has cross-posts and whatnot.

by cltcprd on Nov 15, 2008 10:57 AM CST up reply actions

I'll make sure WCG contacts you...

He’ll be able to tell you all about it.

Essentially, you can fight the stupid fight, or you could just take two damn seconds, cite your posts, and everyone’s happy.

Honestly

I didn’t know what the rules were “here”, and I think the way I originally posted it made it clear that it wasn’t my own. I think the whole thing was blown out of proportion (and I didn’t check this site for a few days).

Better moderation would be to just nuke the thread if you’re concerned instead of letting users fight about the “right” way IMO.

by cltcprd on Nov 15, 2008 11:15 AM CST up reply actions

We were planning on deleting the thread

But our thinking was if you posted the link, we would keep it up. You posted the link, we kept it up. There were some good convos on the thread, so we didn’t just want to get rid of it competely. We all knew that the information wasn’t your own, but it’s just easier to cite it, as you can see.

Really, there aren’t that many users here. Avoid swearing and racist comments, post your links, and then do your thing.

I think the way I originally posted it made it clear that it wasn’t my own.

Not really.

And once again, it is generally accepted that anytime you post information that isn’t yours, you cite the source.

did someone say bradley couldn't crack the lineup

as if to say he didn’t put himself into games? Oh right the coaches decide who gets to play in games…

His stats are as good as Fields -- that's the sad thing

by Jbasic89 on Nov 12, 2008 1:42 PM CST reply actions

and obviously they saw something

the great herm edwards and his league worst offense didn’t.

when bradley gets hurt again i can’t wait to see how this post just becomes nonexistent.

by lopey986 on Nov 12, 2008 2:02 PM CST up reply actions

Exactly...

The Bears coaching staff has had their share of blunders (Chris Harris trade is the most obvious one). However, most of us knew Harris was a good player; I bet if I tossed a poll up, most would vote that Bradley wasn’t that great. Partially because he’s not.

I'M A MAN! I'M 22!

by ChiFan13 on Nov 12, 2008 2:09 PM CST up reply actions

harris

didn’t mind the fact that they traded him, it was WHEN they traded him that really upset me. obviously you gotta trade out of a strong position (and safety was looking like a strong position that year until the inevitable mike brown injury) to try to fill a weak position, but i felt like they gave him up way too early in the preaseason. wait until the end of preseason and see what kind of injuries your team has suffered and what kind of injuries other teams have suffered and you are likely to get much more value out of a team who just lost a starting safety.

by lopey986 on Nov 13, 2008 12:47 AM CST up reply actions

no

because at the time, he wasn’t a pro bowl safety. he was a hitter who had trouble in coverage (a la roy williams). obviously he got better, but it could’ve gone either way. he could’ve ended up being just another big hitter who gets burned.

and it’s not like ricky manning jr. was trash when we got him in the deal, he was having a nice career with carolina and i thought he would make an excellent nickel back. but it didn’t work out. you win some, you lose some.

by lopey986 on Nov 14, 2008 1:08 AM CST up reply actions

I was going to post something about this, too.

However, I don’t think 3 games is enough to gloat.

On the other hand, contrary to what ChiFan13 says, there are some people who “believed” in Bradley—myself being one of them. I predicted a breakout for Bradley about halfway through last year. Maybe it’s just coming a year late.

by tyger1147 on Nov 13, 2008 10:59 AM CST reply actions

When we drafted Bradley

the line was he was raw and it would take 2-3 years for him to be really ready. Then throw in the injuries that slowed him down, maybe the report was right.

I said "most people," not all

Regardless, if he couldn’t crack out WR group, he didn’t deserve to have a spot on the roster.

Talent evaluations

Again, does the problem lie in his doesn’t have the talent (or drive or whatever) or the fact that the Bears coaches don’t know WR talent when they see it?

by cltcprd on Nov 14, 2008 1:58 PM CST up reply actions

the problem

lies in the fact he never worked.
