Vasher Ruled Out For Sunday Night's Game @ Minnesota

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP)—Chicago Bears defensive back Nathan Vasher has a fractured right hand and will miss Sunday night’s game against the Minnesota Vikings when the teams meet for first place in the NFC North.
Vasher, who’d missed three games earlier this season with an injury to his right wrist and thumb, was hurt Sunday against the St. Louis Rams. Bears coach Lovie Smith said Vasher also reinjured his right thumb.
“He’ll be out for a while,” Smith said.
Could Vasher be headed to IR?
“Right now all I can say he is out. He’s not playing this week,” Smith said.
This doesn't look good for the near future for Vasher, nor the long-term future for him unless he turns his fortunes around.
This is extremely disappointing for me, as I fell in love with Vasher after that windy day in Chicago against San Francisco and couldn't get over his spin move to allude Niners tacklers for a Missed Field Goal return for a touchdown. He also seemed to have his position locked down and was tremendous in coverage. Then last season hit and he hasn't been the same since with battling injuries and inconsistency. I have his jersey and I hope he can turn things around.
(Maybe there's something about returning a missed field goal for a touchdown - Hester and Cromartie aren't having very stellar years, at least up to their standards...)

He's got a place in my heart as a Texas player
But he hasn’t been doin very well. I mean, no one wants him to succeed more than I do, but he really needs to show the Bears that he’s worth his contract. Otherwise, it’ll be a swift kick outta Halas Hall.

Do you think
him and a 1st would be able to net us Boldin in the offseason? Or is he pretty much worthless at this point because of the size of his contract?

Depends where we end up drafting, but...
…yeah, I think so. I mean, Vasher just had a down year. We have an extended history of drafting good CB’s (very late in the draft to boot), so we could easily pass the 1st and Vasher.
But you hit it on the head….we definitely need to get a big-name receiver. Not a has-been, not a one-year wonder, but a solid WR like Boldin.

Maybe in theory
but I have a hard time believing Arizona is really gonna let Boldin go. I know they just gave a huge deal to Fitzgerald…. but Boldin is really really good.

I highly doubt they'll keep both
Fitz is already getting big-time money, and Boldin will be next. They’ll have no money left for anything else.
