damn it all
we had our chances. grossman hasn’t played TERRIBLE. defense was good so long as it isn’t 3rd n long apparently.
seems like somewhere along the way grossman and orton got swapped. we always expected orton to be the game manager and grossman to be the slinger who wins games…now it’s the opposite.
definately not a terrible game
against leagues best pass defense, but next week we got the leagues #2 pass defense so nothing easy coming our way. good game by forte as usual
His stats are as good as Fields -- that's the sad thing
nothing terrible
but his accuracy from the second drive to the second to last.
not much you can do when every possession starts inside your own 10
His stats are as good as Fields -- that's the sad thing
you can throw it to the reciever so he can catch it
other than that, yeah nothing.
Yep.
Unless your name is Boomer. Then it’s Rex throwing “a coupla intercpetions and really cost his team the game.” Umm, he threw 1 pick, and it wasn’t really all on him. Tipped pass on a throw to a double coverage receiver, which would’ve been a great throw if the receiver caught it. Oh well.

Don't want to be "the guy" but Rex's decision making is still terrible
he still can’t recognize double coverage or doesn’t think it applies to him. LOTS of balls could’ve been picked.
But. I guess our definition of “terrible” is different. Rex was bad, but not “first half against green bay in 2006” bad…
"Next year" sucks.

i've watched that game at least 3 times on nfl replay on nfl network
and i still can’t believe we really won that one.

by halfblindcubbiegirl on Nov 9, 2008 3:16 PM CST up reply actions
don't worry
you’ll never be “the guy” ;)
grossman isn’t a world beater or even the guy we thought he was the first half of 06…but in terms of nfl backups i’d certainly rank him at the top of that list. not many nfl backups have the talent that grossman has and he has shown the ability to win some games, can’t say that for many backups either.
it wasn't double coverage
safety was over late and just got the tipp, he did throw into coverage though.
Something he actually did avoid for the most part today.
whatever though, his accuracy was terrible today, I’d like to blame it on the lay off, but probably just Rex being Rex

wasn't double
but sure was stupid. actually i think if booker’s hand doesn’t get caught on his mask on his way up he at least gets a couple finger tips on that ball.
great decision on the last offensive play though.
i don’t think grossman hasn’t been “accurate” for a long time.
that int was a floater to a totally covered WR
rex being rex
and
so grossman has 3 tipped passes at the line in two games, would love to know orton’s numbers and the league average.
but sure, he’s tall enough.
like it's been said before
doug flutie and erik kramer were both shorter than grossman and favre is only an inch taller. it has less to do with height and more to do with grossman’s non-existent ability to move around the pocket and stay away from the defenders.
eh
that went a little better then i expected actually.
yet another game we were in until the end. god i hope kyle’s ankle is better soon, theres never a good time for your qb to get hurt but this is the worst time possible i think.
"Next year" sucks.

8 man fronts
How many times were we in 8 man fronts in this game?
The reason I ask is if we had 8 (or 9) in the box all day, we should expect Collins to have the day he did and we need to find a solution for a problem in our front 7. However, if we didn’t stack the box, then our secondary needs work. So, how did that play out in the game?
same defense as usual
i didn’t notice a lot of a difference in the scheme today from earlier games, but they seemed to kill tennessee on the run. the big problem is, the way the cornerbacks play loose coverage. of course our d-line isn’t going to get any pressure when the qb takes a 3 step drop and always has a guy open underneath because the corner is 5 yards off of him.
