Brady VS. Cassel

On one of the ESPN radio shows a day or so back ,one of the fill in guys made the statement that the Patriots should sign Cassel long term and trade Tom Brady.

His basic arguements were that Brady was older, he wouldn't be ready for the start of next year .

I was curious if there is anybody out there that buys that logic and is willing to speak up and defend it.

I figured it would at least pass the time on this slow day.

i dont think it takes 12 months to heal

from a torn acl. that is what he has right? did this guy ever consider the factor of skill when comparing the two quarterbacks?

larry has that system down to a science. Especially with the way the economy is….big wigs like larry coming in dressed in their mink coats and 24k gold cigarrete holders with pockets lined with coke make for a large draw during shift changes.

Granted, it varies from person to person

but yeah, I was under the impression that an ACL is 8-9 months.

Steve Young or Joe Montana?

I'm not going to even bother trying to update this sig everyday anymore... that's what the standings column on ESPN is for.

i don't think

i’ve ever seen cassell throw a pass farther than 10 yards, so i’ll go with brady. at least he’s proven.

Dude's Mental

Brady has established himself as a top 10 if not top 5 qb of ALL-TIME, Cassell has proven what? That he can lead a team that went 16-0 one yr. to needing luck to make the playoffs? Granted he hasn’t started a game since high school, Brady is what 30? That’s kind of young in my book for a QB that barely got touched last yr.

How quickly some have forgotten who Tom Brady is.

He is an all-time great quarterback who would be a definite HOF’er if he were to retire today, and his last season was maybe the greatest of all-time by any quarterback. Sure, Matt Cassell is only in his first year as a starter and could be very good down the road, but Brady is only thirty-one years old. I would hold onto Brady, no doubt about it.

Will Brady ever be the same?

The question is he or was a great QB. He will be coming off a major knee surgery that will effect his pre-injury lack of moblity and one has to wonder if that will make him to trigger happy in the pocket if he his protection breaks down. Cassell has proven he can be a success in NE and they need a boatload of picks to get some youth on that defense, if I could get a Hershal Walker type deal for him I would.

Henry Burris or Moses Moreno?

They Should Definitely

trade Tom Brady to the Bears for a 7th round pick :)

there is a report that he’s way behind in his rehab and may need another surgery which would knock him out for most of 2009
