Mike Brown done once again

Not to be a downer, but I knew Mike Brown would not last a complete season.  Despite persistent injuries all throughout the season, it seemed as if he would finally be able to make it through the season without being placed on the injury reserve.  What a foolish thought.  Brown is placed on the IR today, so he will miss the Texans game.  Brown had a disappointing year until he started playing closer to the line.  Even then Mike Brown is a faint resemblance of who he used to be.  I love Brown as a player, but his time is past, as is Urlacher's.  Unfortunately Da Bears opportunity to win the Super bowl did not occur during their primes (2000-2004).  I beg Angelo not to resign him again with the stubborn hope that he will not get injured.   Despite playing for most of the season, he had injuries that made him less effective.  Thank you Mike Brown for all you did for Da Bears.  You will always be in Bears lore as that hard hitting safety with a knack for the ball especially in overtime.

Well

I wouldn’t mind the Bears signing him to a one-year contract with a low dollar amount. No team is gonna sign him for a multi-year contract, so we could essentially keep him for as long as he stays healthy. When he’s healthy, he’s great…..so why not sign him to a one-year deal? Better than anyone else we have on staff.

Agreed

Not only a leader on D, but an important mentor to younger players(Payne and Steltz). Sign him to a 1 or 2 yr contract and let him finish his career in Chi. Terrible luck, I feel sorry for a guy who busts his ass for a team but alwasy finds a way to get injured.

Mike Brown to Matt Forte

Mike Brown is the past. We need a young playmaking safety and it is time to think of our defense post urlacher. I thought tommie harris would take the role as face of the franchise but he just wanted a paycheck. We need passionate players who thurst for battle every sunday can be seen in their off field preperation year round. I hope that matt forte does not become corrupted by the get paid first then under perform attitude as Lovie Smith, Tommie Harris, Urlacher, Ogunleye, Devin Hester, Angelo, Vasher, …..who am i kidding its become a legacy under Lovie. I just hope he has a strong enough character to reject the maladaptive behavior swirling around him. only time will tell

The perfect fit. Taylor Mays

We need to somehow get this guy. He would be the face of our franchise. FS from USC, runs a sub 4.4 incredible size, but will probably go before we can get him.

This guy could walk in the league and be one of the top 5 safeties in the league.

He’s huge, fast as hell, and hits hard. I will go absolutely crazy if we could get him.

Brown

was a huge part of the team this year. Him being out here in Week 17 killed the defense.

Hill earned the starting job for the 2009 season by beating out Alex Smith, who missed last season after re-injuring his surgically repaired throwing shoulder. Head coach Mike Singletary largely chose Hill based on his play down the stretch last year: he went 5-3 over the final eight games and he also owns a 5-0 record at home in Candlestick Park.
