Chicago Bears VS. Houston Texans - Second Half Game Thread

14-10 Houston at half.

We started fast, ended slow. Lovie better light another fire within the Bears players or this might not end up well.

It looks like G-men definately

sort of want to win.

otherwise they could have just ran some run plays and let the half go away.

instead Eli came out throwing

Given their recent lackluster performances

it’s in their interests to play to win—within reason anyway. With a bye week coming up, Coach doesn’t want them to be too wishy washy.

May the wind be always at your back, and may your placekicker have icewater in his veins.

by juperee on Dec 28, 2008 1:43 PM CST up reply actions

I'm just hoping

that the coaches actually make some changes at half. Covering Andre Johnson, for starters.

Yeah

But did you expect the Bears to actually win this one or the Giants to actually care?

All week long on this blog people were trying to convince themselves that for some reason the Giants were going to play the starters. Why would they do such a thing? The Bears didn’t give a shit in 05 when they were in a similar situation. Why would the Giants?

by McRipper on Dec 28, 2008 1:48 PM CST reply actions

Man gotta love "Bears Football"

Its all about running the ball and playing tough defense… making those big stops you know

This is why I am so sick of the whole “Bears Football” bullshit, its just a bunch of crap to get placate the massive amount of meatball Bears fans about the average teams we put on the field every year..

by 815Sox on Dec 28, 2008 1:49 PM CST reply actions

What a surprise

You constantly question if people “are bears fans”

I’m just looking forward to the future. We aren’t very good. I’d rather have a better pick then a first round blowout. So sue me.

by 815Sox on Dec 28, 2008 1:57 PM CST up reply actions

I constantly question people's fanhood? Who, exactly?

Please give me two names of people I’ve questioned, minus you.

I’m looking forward to the future too, but three draft slots won’t make a difference. Even if we lose, it’s 9-7, and we’re still in the bottom half of the class.

We’ll still have a great pick, so it doesn’t matter.

Well...

I’m an Orton supporter over Rex as of now. I’m gonna sit back for a couple weeks and reevaluate my position.

We have him signed for one more year. In 2010, there will be a stellar QB draft class. If someone good, like a McNabb or whoever, wants to play in Chicago and we can sign him, I’m really not opposed. But, regardless of who our QB is next year, whether it be Henry Burris, Kyle Orton, or Tom freaking Brady, we need to shore up our OL and get a good WR.
