F#$%ing fire Lovie

Damn that Super Bowl.  With out it, it's not even a question.  Lovie Smith would have been fired today.

How in HELL can you pull that act and not get canned?  You have one game to win to make the playoffs (or at least stay alive) and you blow it against a team with nothing to play for.

He couldn't motivate his defense for one freaking game.  ONE GAME.

Yes the Texans were a decent team but they had nothing to play for.  The Bears did and they layed a big fat egg.  Chalk up another 10 point blown lead to Lovie's defense.

And I won't hear of any Mike Babich excuses.  Lovie is the coach of the team and the defense needs to be run by him.  After all, he's the defensive guru, right?  F you Lovie.  Go away.

ps. i've been out of the country on vacation so I'm sorry I couldn't be with you all for the highs of the Packer game and the lows of yesterday's Turd in the Punch Bowl.

and pps i'm sorry if people have already talked about this but this is my first chance to vent.  I had to get off a plane to find out that the Bears elimnated themselves from contention.  Hell, if they won and so did everyone else, I could live with that.

Nice to see ya back

First, welcome back.

Second, why don’t you stick around this off-season?

Third, our defensive coordinator is Bob Babich. :)

Fourth, I don’t mind Lovie. I want to see Bob punted out of Halas Hall.

What a way to make a return.

I just don’t thing the Bears eat his contract.

I think the coordinators may go, but Lovie stays.

Be Serious

Motivation isn’t the issue with this team. Anybody who thinks that those guys don’t want to win needs a reality check. Go tell Alex Brown he wasn’t motivated and be ready to get smacked across the face. They all wanted to win, that wasn’t the problem.

They said the same thing about Coughlin and

then somehow he beats the Patriots and the team is on the verge.

Honestly, I think we have a talent issue.
- Urlacher doesn’t cover the deep middle, tackle, fight through blocks or get to the edges the way he use to.
- Mike Brown is no longer a factor.
- Ogunleye had like 3 quality games this season
- Mark Anderson? Mark who?
- Daniel Manning at safety has never worked (I credit that to Coach Smith, but he did have an injury to the position. It was Steltz or Manning up next.)
- Vasher couldn’t tackle anyone anymore
- WR’s could catch
- Orton couldn’t hit a barn
- Our OL couldn’t open up holes for the RB’s

So, to blame that on the coach is pretty tough. We have a talent issue right now. Maybe 9-7 with 3 games we could have won, was a good coaching job. I will not defend Babich or his hiring and I only slightly defend Turner by saying that he improved some this season and honestly had almost no offensive talent to put around Forte.

He's 39-30 overall (including playoffs)

He’s maddening and can be down right irritating, but no GM should fire a coach nearly 10 games over .500 career.

if you taken the happy glasses off and look at the viking, philly and green bay games. this fanbase would be a lot better off long term if they stopped being all pollyana.

I don't think Lovie

is the greatest coach or anything, but it was talent-less team that was on the brink of the playoffs. People seem to forget that this year…

If you want to blame him for the lack of talent or his talent assessment, well you may be on to something, but I really don’t think getting guys up to play or motivate them is his problem.

Continuing to rely on shitty players on the other hand is….

Agreed

The talent assessment deal starts with Jerry.
