CHICAGO SUN-TIMES
The defense finally looked like they were for real out there. Could it have been as simple as finding the right combo of players?
Not only did our defense show up, it looks like for at least one day we had a punter as well.
CHICAGO TRIBUNE

PLAY CHRIS WILLIAMS ALREADY!
St Clair is garbage at LT. Williams can’t look any worse in pass protection.
I'm not going to even bother trying to update this sig everyday anymore... that's what the standings column on ESPN is for.

I'm all for Williams getting some quality playing time
but I’m not so sure St Clair has been “garbage”

You truly must be half blind.
The better DEs he’s faced have all run circles around him. He’s a utility lineman… you know, the kind of guy you wanna have on the bench, not starting at LT (the most important position on the line).

I agree with you about the overall argument
but for your sake, I sure as hell hope she’s not half blind….that would kinda be a low blow then.
I'M A MAN! I'M 22!
Better like Peppers or whatshisface in Atlanta?
St Clair was more then serviceable in those games.
And yeah, I am half blind. Blind in my right eye and legally blind in my left. So way to be an ass, buddy.

Sackman
Until the Bears are mathmatically out of the playoffs St. Clair should start. Do you understand how difficult it is to pick up an offense during the season after not playing a single snap at full speed? I guess not.

All in good fun, but lets take it easy on the
personal attacks.
thanks

Or it could just be that they played a crappy team.

At this point, we know what we are
so I just gave them credit for once. We play NO, GB and Houston next. I figure maybe a little encouragement would help them out:)

Our secondary is gonna get torched... BADLY.
And all of our ineffective blitzing won’t assist them….
I swear, I’d KILL to see some stats on blitz effectiveness. We’ve got to be the least effective blitzing team in the NFL over the last 8 years. And this year, we’re blitzing more than ever… LOL.
Then, I watch the Steelers or Ravens play a game… and when they blitz, the play is just about dead from the snap of the ball. Guys flying to the QB from all directions… unblocked.
The Bears have this special blitz they’ve designed where #54 or #55 runs right into a wall and takes themselves out of the play. Very impressive to run that over and over and over again with such perfect execution.

I think that you are right. It could be really, really ugly.

So since we are going to get torched regardless
how about we just rush 9 every play. Maybe we can at least make Brees not want to get up. Then again Babich would probably have them all declare as early as possible and then run straight up the middle.

What are the chances Sean Payton outcoaches himself and tries to run the ball instead?
It could happen…

saints 14-0
when they run the ball 30 or more times.
or something similiar, heard it on waddle and silvy this morning.
that's because they disguise their blitzes
and come from different angles. in other words, their blitzes are hard to predict. that’s what good coaching does. instead, we get obvious blitzes that get picked up almost all the time, and corners who are told not to jam receivers at the line.

No jamming while blitzing
You do realize how much of a risk it is to jam with corners in a blitz don’t you? If they get beaten off the line it’s pretty much a long TD. I do agree with blitzing our safeties and corners more often to throw off the timing of the offense.

A crappy team with an absent interior O-line and a lame passing game.
We can’t play the Lions, Rams, and Jags every week you know…

They gave a scare to a lot of teams!
Including the Vikings twice.

always good to see a W
but they have simply knocked around the hopeless lately.
Hopefully they can knock off the Saints on Thursday so that Bears – Packers game has some meaning for us besides pride.

It is better than the NFC West too
but you don’t hear people poo-pooing on the Cardinals’ division title.
sigh…
