Ask Canal Street Chronicles!
Greetings WCG!
Saintsational here from Canal Street Chronicles. With the game between the Saints and Bears quickly approaching, I wanted to introduce myself and open it up to you guys for any questions you may have about the New Orleans Saints and/or the upcoming matchup between our two teams.
This is the third meeting of our teams in three straight years and I can safely say that Saints fans are hungry for revenge. Every game is a must win for the Saints from here on out if they want to even have a chance to play in January so we are all in full playoff mode.
Without further ado, please feel free to ask away. I am sure some loyal CSC readers will also make their way over to this thread to help me answer questions and lay down a little good natured trash talking.

High powered aerial attack
We all know that you guys have this year’s greatest show on turf, but many don’t realize that you run the ball almost 50% of the time.
The Bears have had great success in completely shutting down the running game of some teams this season. If Pierre Thomas is held to minimal yardage Thursday night, how does that affect your offense?

Actually...
we aren’t running 50%.

if you are looking for a laugh read some of his previous stuff.
Honestly…IF…you stop PT, then we throw. I love to make it sound that easy, In Drew We Trust. It’s not like I think PT is going for over 100 receiving and 100 rushing….again. But last week was the first time any single rusher went for over a 100 yds in a game. I’m really curious to see what he does this week. What’s the forecast for tomorrow?

My mistake
I was looking at team stats and saw Brees’ completion numbers (329) and mistook it for attempts (503). So you guys complete a pass about the same as rushing the ball.

Cover 2
To beat the Saints, you have to slow them down. Take away the downfield throws, and stop the running game. Make us dink and dunk, and wait for third down stops or turnovers. That’s exactly what a Cover 2 is designed for, so youse guys (is that right? down here it’s y’all) have the right scheme.
We play against Tampa twice a year, and the games are always close and (relatively) low-scoring. This year we scored 24 and 20 points on them. Last year we scored 25 on the Bears, so that’s probably the range you can expect this time around. Also, remember what happened last year when we opened against the Colts…our offense couldn’t do anything.
Stupid Bucs...

Wide Receivers
Lance Moore – Undrafted Free Agent
Marques Colston – 7th round pick
Terrance Copper – Undrafted Free Agent
How do you guys do this? Has Sean Payton become the Mike Shanahan for Wide Receivers? Can you guys just plug anyone in and get good production?
More importantly – can we have your receiver scouts?

see above
In Drew We Trust.
I dont think anyone realizes how good he is at getting the ball to .. well anyone. The reason you dont see a Saints leading the league in recieving yardage is that Brees spreads it around to anyone and everyone.
As for their souls… NO.

You need that to more people around here.

Yes...
it also helps if your WRs actually get separation… and can, you know… catch the ball.
I'm not going to even bother trying to update this sig everyday anymore... that's what the standings column on ESPN is for.

NFC South
How frustrating is it to play in a division where being 7-6 has you in last place?

Hey There CSC
I’m from Louisiana, and this is the only game that I get to root against the Saints.
First question: Why aren’t the Saints 10-3?
2nd: Will Brees finish his career as a Saint, and will he ever win a Super Bowl?
3rd: WTF is up with your #2 and #3 QB’s? Joey Harrington and Mark Brunell? I mean, in Brees you trust, but Jeesus Christ, what happens if he gets an ouchie?
4th: Is Deuce finished as a Saint after this year? If so, will he retire or go somewhere else? I loved watching him in college… except when he played against LSU.

GB
Let me throw something out at you on #3. Have you seen who our #2 and 3 are? And you are knocking them? At least they have 1 great QB. We have one average- above average, one train wreck waiting to happen and a undrafted rookie who we have no idea what he can do. QB is one position we can never question another team.

Lol... not necessarily knocking them...
I know we can never point fingers… you are absolutely right about that! It is just worth pointing out I think, because Drew Brees is absolutley their offense… when you do look at their depth at QB… it kinda looks scary. Look, I am a Saints fan through and through, I just hope that they can find a good #2 just in case.

Isn't this the 4th straight year these teams have played
Or am I misremembering the 20 – 17 game? That was 2005, right?
