Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

Ray Rice?

Anyone familiar with him?

I've seen a few mocks that have the Bears taking him.  I also read he's been training with Earnest Byner resulting in a reduction of body fat from 14 to 8 percent.  It sounds like he's ready to put on a show at the combine.

Is he more of a Benson type or is he quicker?

training with Byner?
So Byner is teaching him how to fumble in the biggest game of his life?

Oh, yeah 2 time pro bowler and 3 time all-pro* career and he'll be remembered for the fumble that cost Cleveland the Super Bowl berth.

I remember
him as a fast(ish) running back on the Washington Redskins in Tecmo Super Bowl.

Here's what I found on Rice...
Rice is a very good north/south runner who has excellent vision and can handle a workload. The biggest question about Rice's game is his speed. He's not the fastest runner and doesn't possess breakaway speed. The forty will be the biggest obstacle for Rice to overcome at the Combine.

the fastest RB in the draft
will likely be East Carolina's Chris Johnson...

probably will come in at a high 4.2 or low 4.3 in the 40 this week.

Speaking of RB's
good primer on who might be available this offseason incuding potential salary cap cuts..

the author thinks we'll sign Julius Jones but I don't see that.

Draft Tek Simulation
In my mock it has taken him as value pick in the third.. I would only take any RB as a value.. especially with our luck at this position..

i heard
he's small and not fast. apparently, he also has a lot of miles on his legs from his days at rutgers.
