WCG Mock Draft- St. Louis Rams

CURRENT SELECTION
Chris Long
Defensive End
University of Virginia
ANALYSIS: This is an easy pick for the Rams whose biggest needs are on the offensive and defensive line. The Rams were near the bottom of the league in both sacks and sacks allowed so it's obvious where they need to upgrade. The Rams recorded only 31 sacks all season and they still don't know how effective 34 year old Leonard Little will be now that he's coming back from injury.

Chris Long is regarded as the top defensive end in this year's draft which makes him an easy pick for the Rams. Son of former NFL great Howie Long, Chris plays just like him. Not just a sack specialist, Long plays the run as well recording 79 tackles (36 solos) good for second on his team. But of course, he just wouldn't be a Long if he wasn't known for terrorizing opposing QBs. Virginia's defensive captain recorded 14 sacks and 19 total tackles for loss. He was credited with 23 pressures, 1 interception, 9 pass deflections and even blocked a kick.

I fully expect this kid to become a very good player at the next level.

Seriously
If you don't care who the Rams are going to draft, or any other team for that matter, then you should probably ignore what we are doing.

As football fans, we are interested in the young guys who will be entering the league this year and the possibilities for their careers.

If you don't care, then stay away.
