Bears to Find #1 Receiver - In Draft?

So apparently JA is gonna find our next #1 in this year's draft. Who knows what will happen. I don't want him drafting a wide-out anywhere in the first 2 rounds for fear of a "bust". I don't really know what to think of all this.

P.S. My mock draft will be coming soon.

I dont think
this is the right draft to target a #1 WR. There simply arent that many out there. I guess Malcolm Kelly could be but he might be gone by 14 and I like Limas Sweed, but he is injury prone and he should go in the 20's. This adds to the argument that Berrian shouldve been tagged and at least look towards FA for a starting WR

i'm beginning to think
that not franchising Berrian was a HUGE mistake.  HUGE.  Only 1 or  2 million difference for the salary cap and now the bears have nothing.

bad move.

if you are trying to say
that you said this first, i am not claiming that i am the first to say this.  I am saying that  the more I think about it, it was huge mistake.  If that means that I agree with your earlier statement, then fine.  I am saying that at first I thought it would be ok, but now I don't.

I agree Chad
I too thought we would be fine, but the more I think about it the more I realize how stupid it was to not franchise him and if nothing else get a 2nd round pick out of it.  That should have been a worst case scenario.  Plus then we could have dealt to the Raiders and not a division rival.  Horrible situation.

I didn't mean to imply I was first.
Or whatever. But yes, that I've been saying it but more that I was just agreeing with what you said.

I don't get it
I've never seen a blog site where you have to defend everything you enter as soon as you enter it.  This is for recreation, right? Fun? If you guys haven't figured it out yet I'm in the business where if you don't get your facts staight then it may cost you something. So I really don't get it when a guy gets blasted for getting the year wrong on when Kyle Orton last shaved. Geeze folks, relax!

If Malcolm Kelly is still available at #14
he would be my choice. Hes got the size, speed, separation, and Y-A-C potential far and above anyone else in the draft. Some mockdrafts have Limas Sweed being the first WR chosen and the Bears picking an OT, but Im not as high on Sweed, and think theres not a huge dropoff between 1st and 2nd round OTS. If the Bears dont take a WR in the first round, Early Doucet was very productive and should be considered in the second round if available. I think Angelo got a little gunshy about using the franchise tag after the Briggs backlash last year, but it worked out well, and should have used it on Berrian. He looks like he has the talent to be All-Pro, if he could get with the right QB.
