WCG Mock Draft- New Orleans Saints

CURRENT SELECTION
Mike Jenkins
Cornerback
South Florida
ANALYSIS: The Saints need a lot of help defensively and it will certainly be a focus in the early stages of this year's draft. Even with the addition of free agent Randall Gay, the Saints still lack strength and depth at the cornerback position. The linebacker issue was addressed in free agency with the addition of Jonathan Vilma and Dan Morgan. Defensive Tackle would probably be another good option here, but with Glen Dorsey and Sedrick Ellis off the board, Mike Jenkins is the next best option to bolster the Saints' defense.

Jenkins is a stellar athlete and could turn out to be the better coverage corners in this draft. He has good size and also good speed and acceleration. Where he lacks at run stopping ability, he will make up in his exceptional coverage ability. He may even have the ability to convert to Safety if need be. Jenkins should also be able to step up and play early, something which the Saints will need him to do.
