4 Round Mock Draft

A four round mock draft.

14. Chicago Bears - *Branden Albert, OT/OG Virginia
The Bears need some fresh bodies on the offensive line, particularly at right tackle where the aging Fred Miller was released following a down season. Albert, who is shooting up draft charts, has the versatility to play all along the offensive line, and would allow veteran John Tait to move to right tackle, where he is more comfortable.

  1. (44) Chicago - Joe Flacco, QB Delaware
  2. (70) Chicago (from San Francisco) - *Mario Manningham, WR Michigan
  3. (90) Chicago (from San Diego) - *Jamaal Charles, RB Texas
  4. (110) Chicago - Dexter Jackson, WR Appalachian State
Well, it is certainly a name brand draft.  To get Mario Manningham in the third could be a huge steal, if you can deal with his potential personality issues.

I don't think it likely we take two WRs in the first 4 picks.

Manningham
I'd love him in the 3rd Round - but I could see him ending up at the bottom of the first with a team like the 49ers... Dexter Jackson is a sleeper in terms of potential, but lots of teams will have them, and I could see someone reach for him at the end of the 3rd or early 4th as well.  You never know.
I saw a mock draft that showed Brohm being the 4th QB off the board... I'd take Brohm over Flacco; Flacco needs more seasoning.

Brohm
I'd take Brohm over Flacco, too, but I don't think Brohm falls that far. His stock has been rising a little lately--I've seen a couple of very positive articles about him in the pre-draft propaganda blitz. My bet is he goes very early 2nd round.

I don't see...
...JA going with 5 straight offensive players.

well
I couldnt see them going after another Texas running back, they made that mistake a few years back...and 2 WR's over a Safety or a DT?

what about
Matt Forte? the have seen alot of him I think they would go that way b4 another Longhorn, like nate said.

its foolish
to say that we shouldn't draft another running back from texas just because benson hasn't worked out. that being said, i don't see charles as a great fit for us.
I am like your Dan Aykroyd and biglow would be Jane, the ignorant slut. -Chad

I just read
That the bears are taking a look at Pierre Garcon from DIV III Mount Union. Supposed to be late rounder. Ran a 4.42 11 fastest of the 55 recievers and did 20 reps of 225lbs. Thats like having a RB at WR. lol Not saying that he will become anyone but if we get him on the 7th or a non-draftee than shoot, if its free its me.

Kind of unrealistic..
According to most boards Flacco, Charles, and manningham will be off the board at these picks..

I love that draft
If that actually happened, I think that would be a stellar draft for the Bears. I would like to see Forte instead of Charles, but that would be as good of a draft as we could hope for.

agreed...
I like it a lot too. There could be some name swaps (such as Forte for Charles) but all in all, I like it!

I'd take it....
...it could end up being one of the best drafts ever. Although I doubt it would happen, its still a nice board to look at.

i just seen
on NFL Live last nite that he's gonna be a sleeper/stud for anyone who gets him, Kipe and McShay both agreed he could be the next Jones-Drew, but I doubt we'll go after another small guy since we have Wolfe already.

it won't happen
but that would be a rather dreamy draft if it did.

Hell yeah!
All great value picks filling major needs. Jackson-WR at #110 is a little too high and not needed at this point; there are good DTs(like Fluellan - a great pass-rushing DT; a perfect backup for T.Harris). Or a choice of FS and SS would be another option. I believe Albert should start at OG, so a backup OT is still priority #1. Maybe reach for Hills-OT if no higher rated OTs fall; I think that would be option#1. St. Clair is a former 3rd round pick and should be able to get the job done as starting RT. Hills is underrated and could surprise.
