7th round superbowl champs

It has been brought to my attention that a few 7th round picks recently got a ring. Derrick Ward and Ahmad Bradshaw (245th/250th). Ward rushed for like 500 or so yrds in only 5 games. But he suffered a broken leg in the Chicago game, when he spanked us for like a Buck 50 and a score. Pay back's a bitch, GO BEARS! Bradshaw did so against buffallo too and was the SuperBowls leading rusher with some 50 yrds or so. I mean if its free its me, even if under the radar. Just a FYI, T.J. Houshmandzadeh (204th) and Marques Colston (252nd), the last payer to be selected in the draft. "Luck be a lady tonight". Thoughts?

Perhaps modify a little
7th rounders probably get rings more than you'd think.

The question is how many were vital or gave quality minutes to their team or were starters?

Needle in a Haystack
Finding these "gems" in the last round are almost impossible to find. Teams get really lucky on drafting these players. No team is expecting 7th rounders, or even 6th rounders to make a huge impact. A lot of these last round picks cannot even make the team that drafted them. Teams just hope that this later round pick can make the team and be a solid backup. If a team needs to address a position on their team, they aren't waiting til the 5th, 6th, or 7th rounds to fill that need. Some players get lucky, VERY lucky (McBride and McGowan) on the Bears and other players (Marcus Colston and TJ Housmandzadeh). Why were they drafted late? I don't know but some of them really show us that EVERY round does matter, not just the 1st round.

I wasent saying that we should look to these to bolster positions that need depth. all i am saying is that these picks will help bears obtaining rights to a player/playetrs that would ordinarily be deemed as nondrafted and free to sighn with whom they please. the point was YOU NEVER KNOW. Every time i think of later round talent i get scolded for it. I know that teams dont target players that low to bolster a needed position, just the chance that a diamond in the ruff may be unsurfaced is intriguing to me.

i know TJ
was drafted b/c Chad Johnson told Cinci that they need to draft him b/c he's his best friend and will end up helping them alot more w/ both of them on the team.
