RB Matt Forte over RB Jamaal Charles, WR Malcolm Kelly, QB Brian Brohm, QB Chad Henne, and others?

Is it just me or should have the Bears taken Brian Brohm, Chad Henne, Jamaal Charles, Malcolm Kelly, or Ray Rice over Forte? Forte played for Tulane which had no competition and Forte was a projected 3rd rounder. Don't the Bears want a QB? Brohm AND Henne were RIGHT THERE for them and they passed them up. When Detroit traded up to the pick before them, I thought they would take a QB. But they didn't, leaving the Bears with either Henne and Brohm and they take Forte? Not Brohm, not Henne, not Charles, not Kelly, and not Rice, but Forte. Anyone else have a problem with this pick? ESPN's Steve Young did. He said they were one of the teams that had the worst day because they passed up Brohm and Henne for Forte. Just awful...

I am not that sold on either QB

so that doesnt bother me. We should have traded down Forte would most like would have been there in the late 50’s. Who ever scouts Louisana for the Bears has done a good job as all the players we have gotten from Louisana schools have been pretty good, with the excemption of Daniel Manning.

daniael manning

has been a pretty good safety. i like him, i liked chris harris too. i would have liked a d-manning at fs and chris harris at ss defensive backfield actually.

Forte better than Charles

I don’t like Jamaal Charles, so I am fine with Forte over him. I think they should have taken Brohm or Henne though, Forte would have been there in the third.

I am pissed!!!

I am so pissed off right now I could punch a baby!!! Ok, not literally a baby, but I could punch something. I can’t believe first of all that the bears passed up on Branden Albert who can play pretty much all positions on the line except center. Granted, I am satisfied so to speak with the fact that they got a true left tackle, but how do you pass up a utility lineman in that situation????? Like I said though I guess I am content with the pick, not happy, I would have really been pissed if JA picked defense with that pick instead of offense. I am however super f*ckin pissed about that second round pick though. I can’t believe that they would pass on Brohm and Henne for Forte. Forte if I remember right was a projected 3rd rounder, not a middle 2nd rounder. They jumped way too high in my opinion to get him and now who the hell is left at QB that is worth competing with our beloved Sexy Rexy, since we all know that Orton won’t get a fair shake at it. All I am saying is that with that pick they could have grabbed preferrable Brohm over Henne, instead of jumping that high to get Forte. They got horrible draft value with that pick and if I see JA in an alley or dark parking lot somewhere I am going to punch him right in that thick @ss skull of his!!! Instead of admitting that he made a bad choice with Grossman and Benson and cutting his losses he is keeping them around and not even trying to create decent competition for them. I am a die hard fan and I always back the bears no matter what, but this has got to be the worst 2 rounds of drafting I have seen from them!!!

thats what we get for having a small school coach

he thinks that scince chicago fucked up and hired a d-coordinator on a team who has offensive strugles, that we should continue the trend . this tells me that he has no clue about the offensive side of the ball. we are still gonna be a run run pass team and the first 2 downs they will stack 10 in the box cuz we have no recievers and a rookie line (ie.) williams and Beekman our left side is going to be crushed…....do you seriously think Williams can handle Chris Long, Mario Williams, Dweight Freeny, Jarred Allen, the Freak and the 2 young stud DE’s that Jacksonville just drafted…..I THINK NOT!

i voted no

only because we should have went mendenhall in the 1st…o-line in the 2nd and third.

You should re-think that statement.

The next OT taken was in the third round. The difference between Mendenhall and Forte is WAY smaller than the difference between Williams and Joe Greco or Anthony Collins. I didn’t like the Forte pick , but it has NOTHING to do with Forte. And the next after that were in the fourth.

No Mendenhall

There’s a bigger drop between the tiers of OL than RB from the 1st to the 2nd. So it was smart to grab an OL like Williams and wait till the later rounds to grab a RB. I thought another OL in the second would have been solid and grab a RB in the 3rd but I’m comfortable with this setup.
