I hate this f'ing team
If it wasn't for Urlacher, Hester and Grossman (believe it or not) I would not even follow this team.
I hate this team so much right now. Chris Williams? Yeah right! FU Angelo you farghing icehole.
Did you know there is a new thing:
Please correct the following items:
- Your FanPost must be at least 75 words long. Right now it's only 37 words long.

How do you figure?
You did see the run on OTs in the first? There wasn’t anything left at all in the second round. I’m pleased with this draft so far. Forte is going to come in with a chip on his shoulder and run like he has something to prove. If we didn’t get Forte when we did Detroit was going to, then what? If we didn’t get Williams when we did then the Texans would have. QBs? All of them are going to need time to develop, so what would you rather have a RB who could start and contribute right away or a QB who contributes nothing for two years. We can get that on the second day. I would like to see a WR with the first third round pick (Caldwell or Doucet), maybe get a guard (Carl Nicks?) with the second third and save the QB for the fourth (O’Connell, Johnson).

QB!?
we already have one running back who can start and contribute right away in Cedric Benson. We still do not have a QB who will be able to contribute in two years be it grossman, orton, or a draft pick. I think henne or Brohm would be starters… I hope they draft a qb on day 2 cuz he will no doubt be a starter.

Second day QB's??????
I really don’t get the thought, “Well, QB’s take a couple of years to contribute, and you can get projects in the 4th round and later, so they should just do that.” WTF? Those projects have such a higher bust rate, it’s unbelievable.
Besides, why does everyone really care about contributing right away. This team has major holes. Does anyone think this team will compete for a Super Bowl this year? Will they be more than a 10-6 team, at best? Not likely. Why not build something with a solid foundation instead of just throwing plaster on a crumbling house year after year?
The way the draft played out, the Bears could have rocked this scene:
Williams
Brohm
Charles
Caldwell
would have been a helluva an offensive draft. Not perfect, but unless a team’s trading up to get the better players, it never will be perfect. This draft will look like crap in two years.

UNH QB RICKY SANTOS IS THE NEXT BRADY!!!
New Hampshire QB Ricky Santos will be the best Rookie out of the 2008 Class. The 2 things he has going against him is that he is 6’1” to 6’2” tall. He supposedly doesn’t have a strong arm according to some scouts, but I’ve seen him play. He played in the same conference as Joe Flacco. Ricky Santos’s stats were a lot better. Ricky Santos was the best QB in the Hula Bowl. He’s one so many national Division 2 awards over his 4 years as a starter. The Walter Payton (Best Division 2 Offensive player) award several times. He just split the ACC offensive player of the year for 2007 with Joe Flacco. Ricky Santos can scramble for numerous touchdowns per game. His awareness, pocket presence, and scrambling ability is through the roof. He averages 3-4 passing touch downs per game for 4 years. He’s had no injuries. He is extremely smart as well! A lot of college and pro scouts were disappointed that he some how got snubbed and was invited to the combine. ESPN has him ranked no lower than the 29th best QB this year. Google him and check out his stats, awards, and recaps of games. It was him throwing to David Ball (UNH WR 2007 undrafted free agent – Bears) that broke Jeery Rice’s all time college records. David Ball just didn’t have speed. Ricky Santos is the other half of the equation is breaking that record. He has thrown for over 13,000 yards at UNH! He threw about or over 120 touch downs! He has scrambled for over 20 or 30 touch downs! I’m glad UNH is on Bears radar (Jerry Azumah, Corey Graham, David Ball…Ricky Santos?)!!! Please draft him with a late round pick or sign him as soon as the draft is over! Several teams have been speaking to his agent!!!! Best Bang for the buck!!!

Picks went down as expected
no?
maybe they should have taken Albert (or Otah) over Williams, but it’ll take few years to see who’s better between them.
brohm, flacco, henne all gone though…means colt brennan or josh johnson. That’s probably the worst part.

brennan
Bennan is nothing better than a 3rd stringer and people know this. I’d be thrilled with Johnson or OConnell.

bears suck
super pissed. hb dive for 2 yards. hb dive for 1 yard. incomplete pass or fumble by grossman. Punt.
woulda rather had brohm, henne seems like a douche. analysts say brohm is ready to compete day 1. this rex love affair is just brutal. We lost the super bowl to the colts because rex didnt have chris williams there to protect him?? I dont think so. we lost cuz rex stinks. then we got rid of TJ and the running game stunk, we got forte so even assuming he is as good as TJ that just gets us back to where we were, i doubt it will be an improvement tho.
stil hope we draft a qb cuz brennan or woodson or those other fools people are mentioning that i dont know of willl be an improvement

Wow, what an over-emotional, whiny rant.
Maybe this should go from “Fanposts” and go back to “Diaries” because I feel like I’m reading the diary of a 14-year-old girl after she just got dumped by her boyfriend. Holy crap. I thought you was all growed up and shit. Wow. Wow. Wow.

Using your own reasoning Chad...
Mendenhall was the 4th RB taken. Forte was 6th.
Williams was the 3rd OT taken vs the 8th OT that would have been available at our 2nd round pick. I for one am happy with the combo we got. I think you (and others) had a Univ. of Illinois crush on Mendenhall. Yes, he is good. But no, he is not great or even significantly better than Forte could be.
by Ando on Apr 27, 2008 11:20 AM CDT reply actions 0 recs
Forte is SLOW!!!!!
Mendenhall is not. 4.5 is the dividing line. if you run under, like Mendenhall, you are fast. if you run over 4.5, like Forte, you are slow.
by tempchad on Apr 27, 2008 12:54 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
furthermore
i get what you are saying, but if the Bears took Mendenhall he would have been the 3rd running back taken. And williams may have been the 3rd OT but I would have rather had Otah.
