A Backfield Package for the Bears?
OK This NFL.com writer talks about the how the Saints use Reggie Bush and Deuce McAllister in packages because ones a in between the tackles runner and ones the speed guy.
I want to know what you guys think about maybe the Bears trying this somehow; maybe with a Benson-Forte backfield or a Wolfe-Benson or even a Wolfe-Forte package. Wolfe has speed and catches the ball well and Forte has some speed and he seems to catch well or so we hear. Could Turner fathom something like this?
Why not? Thoughts?

That'd be GREAT.....
but Ron Turner sucks and can’t even imagine something as dynamic as this I personally would like to see Forte and Wolfe b/c i think both have a future in the league but who knows dude

We already have a pocket rocket
in Forte…...runs a 4.462 . 2 hunderedths of a sec slower than Adrian Peterson, not our AP. Just runs less violent. So no need to match speed and speed. Benson/forte will be a decent matchup unless one of our currnt backs gets cut during OTA’s .

Speed and speedier?
Wolfe ran a 4.3-something.

I thought
I read Forte was not real fast and ran a 4.6 something but was able to still do well without speed. He can break tackles, has good inside vision, can be an every down back, and is elusive even though not incredibly fast.

He sure doesn't look too fast on tape.
He consistently gets caught from behind. However, NFL.com said he ran a 4.46 40-yd and was the 7th-fastest RB in that regards at the combine.

Interesting
I’m going to have to look for where I read that. Maybe I got some bogus info.

I'm not making the conclusion one way or another.
He’s got a very good timed speed so whatever. Obviously, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Forte and Wolfe
could cause problems on the right play and in the right situation. i expect wolfe to step it up this year.

we did it
with tj/benson and it worked out well. the nfl is a different game these days, the days of the single stud running back getting all the carries is nearing its end.

No I should have made that clear
The article is talking how teams will use two backs like Bush and McAllister on the field at the same time for decoys or whatever and that more teams will use this (Called the “pony backfield”) and I was wondering if and who the Bears could use in this set-up.

It could work with Forte
hes got a great versatility of size/blocking, speed, and ball-catching. In fact some draftsites suggested he could convert to FB. So in Goal-line situations especially, I think a Forte/Benson backfield could prove productive. But I dont think the Bears possess an ideal combo where that would be used often and I doubt Turner has the vision to implement anything other than McKie as an unimpressive lead-blocker/adequate pass catcher when the Bears combine two backs.

Might not be a bad idea.
Forte’s supposedly a good blocker. And they’ll be running more two-TE sets since the receivers will blow ass.

really?
Is that from your experience or do they have him listed as the backup? A lot of times TE’s are the backup FB’s on Madden.

i put him there
he won the pro bowl the 1st season i put him there. Personally tho, and i feel bad not saying this originally, i prefer olsen due to his speed. both block well and can catch.
