Brandon Lloyd Not Gone Yet

Last week it was mentioned  that with the impressive play of Earl Bennett and Marcus Monk that newly signed Brandon Lloyd might get let go before he even played a down.

It has was also assumed that Mark Bradley or Devin Hester would fill the number 2 receiver spot next to Marty Booker.  Apparently that has all gone by the way side.

Mark Bradley had arthroscopic knee surgery this month and might not be back in time for the start of training camp.

During camp Brandon Lloyd filled the number two spot.  If Bradley isn't ready that leaves Lloyd, Hester and Bennett to compete for the #2 spot.

I am not sure where this leaves Rashied Davis in this equation.

Rashied is freaking clutch!

I love the guy. As for Bradley, I like him when he’s healthy but damn if he can’t stay on the field and Lloyd doesn’t pan out then we’re in for a looonnng season of watching our QBs looking, looking, sacked. Unless one of these rookies is incredible, but come on, realistically they say it takes receivers 3 years to adjust to the NFL, yeah maybe there is a Marques Colston once in a blue moon but get real.

Hey WCG

Are you going to post anything about Benson’s return to practice today? He sounded pretty cocky in his statements, even taking somewhat of a veiled shot at JA.

When I first heard about it

it was only blurbs. I’ll check out some tomorrow to get some more detail.

Yes you are correct.

Plus the only thing I saw was on the Bears own website and sometimes I feel they like to propagate.

seems likely

we’ll go into the season with a receiver depth chart of Booker, Lloyd (just for the fact that he has experience), Davis, Hester, Bennett and if they keep six; Monk…i wouldn’t be suprised if Monk ends up on the practice squad.

A bit premature

he is just getting his knee scoped, not like he tore anything, at least not lately

I know. I just don't like being disappointed.

And with the injury history…................................................

Yo, Tyger1147 we love Guys with bum Knees!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We drafted 2 different players with bad knees this year, so now Bradley has company. Monk’s one of them, without the knees issue, the guy’s not a Bear and a late 1st. Round /early 2nd Round pick.
