More Details from Benson's Arrest

According to this ESPN.com article , the police officer who arrested Benson said that he appeared drunk, was combative and was "cocky"

Sgt. Leonard Snyder, who sprayed and arrested Benson, wrote in his report that he believed Benson was intoxicated because he was "combative," "cocky," "insulting," and used "profanity," and at other times was "crying" and "cooperative."

So now its a real case of he said-he said and the truth may never be found. Who is more credible though? A Bears player who has had a sense of entitlement and seems to have an air about him or some cop who works hard and might want some recognition?

i hope the crying they are refering to isn’t when they pepper sprayed him, if so they are morons.

Truth will come out

I read that there were quite a few people on the boat and if they’re all questioned, then they should be able to figure what’s the truth and what is crap. I would tend to believe the Officer over a professional athlete. I’m sure there have been cases where there was abuse of police power against an athlete or someone famous, but the majority of the time, the officer has not been at fault.

The crying comment and also reports of him asking for him Mom are the questionable things about what the officer said. Uhm… yeah, you’re eyes water when you get sprayed in them with pepper spray.

at a party one time

i was 3 rooms away when someone sprayed pepper spray and i still felt a little bit of that shit. pepper spray is no joke, i’d be crying too.

and apparently the cops removed benson from his boat and took him out of view of those he was with to perform his sobriety test, so i’m not sure the truth will come out.
