Benson Parked Boat At Party Spot

We may never know how much truth there is to the police's side or Cedric Benson's side, but this is strike one against Benson's side of the story. Benson claims that he was being harassed by police and that they 'look' for him.
A story is out that reports that Cedric Benson parked his boat on Lake Travis, in the lakes most popular party cove. Police have been attempting to crackdown on the drinking and partying at that location.
Again, this doesn't suggest what the Police did to Benson was not in line with his story, but if you go to a party location and everybody is drinking and the cops have been trying to curtail that, you can't claim you were an unfair target.

If you go to a spot that is know to be a party area then you are asking 4 it. Its like you are parked outside of a crackhouse and complain cuz you get targeted as a crackhead.

As a 24 year old white guy from a good area I won’t try to pretend that I know what it is like to be targeted by cops because of my race, but you’d have to live in a cave for your whole life to not realize why a girl from Texas said that on the phone.
Must be a Texas thing
I live in the south and in a “bad reputation” neighborhood and here you get harassed no matter what your color. You’re poor and you’re scum, thats how they look at us here.
I see this photo as a good thing

If was Lays or anything with more grease, that would be cause for concern.

i thought i read somewhere recently
that benson bulked up last offseason because he thought he’d need more weight to take the beating of a #1 RB – he decided to go back to his lighter weight this season because the bulking up cost him speed.

I jsut read an article saying how they surveyed several random people about the the LCRA. According to their informal survey, the LCRA is courteous and respectful. Usually they prefer to give warning rather than tickets and arresting people in order to preserve the relaxed atmosphere. This seems to cast a little more doubt on Benson’s story.
Moral: Don’t be stupid and stay out of stupid situations.
Boating While Intoxicated
OK so the LRCA is trying to “crack down” on people “partying” on their boats. Isn’t that why people have boats? Looks like normal people enjoying themselves, similar to fans tailgating at a football game.
Doesn’t seem to me like the LRCA “was preserving the relaxed atmosphere”
I understand why you can’t drive a boat drunk, but I also think sometimes law enforcement officers take too much pleasure in “enforcing” the law too. Especially in an anchored boat.
Partying
My best partying days are way behind me, but I NEVER invited my mother to the good ones!

What’s that all about? I wouldn’t mind being at that boat party though. Looks like he’s got some hotties on there with him. Food for thought. It’s quite possible that these cops saw a boat full of hot white girls with a couple of black dudes and didn’t like that one bit. Just sayin.
