huh?
Benson isn’t as svelte as originally thought.
That is not what the article says at all. This is what the article says:
Slimmed down running back Cedric Benson is listed at 216 pounds, down four from last year’s list. If he’s 216 now, he wasn’t 220 last year.
It clearly says he slimmed down, and then implies that last year’s 220 number was well under what he actually weighed.

All I was getting at was that

a big deal was made that he dropped 10+ pounds, then he shows up and only is 4 down.

I apologize if my making a dig at Benson and the original talk about his weight confused.

but...

... he have dropped 10 pounds. The article was clearly implying that if he currently weighs 216, then there was no way that that he only weighed 220 last year. This, in turn, would mean that the reporter believes that he probably has lost around 10 pounds.

I am not taking only this reporters

word that he dropped 10 pounds. It was a fairly widely reported statement. It was also used as a way to explain that Benson was rededicated and/or working harder.

I was simply saying, he in fact had not dropped the 10 pounds or has already put the 6 back on.

no.

That is not what the article said.

Let me put it like this. Benson was listed at 220 last year. He weighed in at 216 this year. But the reporter is saying that if the 216 number is correct, than the 220 number was not correct.

It does not mean that he didn’t drop 10 pounds. It means that the 220 number was wrong, at least according to this reporter.

Glad to see Orton getting a real chance.

His arm strength may not be what Grossman’s is but he makes up for it with a lack of turnovers. Remember the opening drive of the Packers game last December? I picture that to be our offense in nearly every game this year. With a few of the big plays from the Saints game.

Lovie Smith-isms:
"We get off the bus running"
"Rex Grossman is our quarterback."
"...and we'll go from there."
