Now There Is Something You Don't Hear Everyday.
On the heels of his record 4 year deal, Tommie Harris praised the Bears and the contract situation as being classy, moreover after signing it he had this to say:
''I don't believe any NFL player deserves the amount of money that we do get,'' he said. ''But in the business that we're in, they give us all tags and say, 'Well, this guy is worth this, this guy is worth that.' We play a game, a kid's game, and get paid a king's ransom.''
With the league filled wiht TOs and Chad Johnsons this type of behavior and outlook is nice to see.

i wish
this mentality would carry on through the rest of the nfl and to other sports as well. they are all playing games. the same games everyone would play at recess in middle school. games everyone enjoys playing for fun, not money.
Man do I hate Longhorn fans, well except for the ones that actually went there.

they play games that make the leagues and teams gobs and gobs of money
if the fans didnt pay so much money to watch and be apart of the games they players wouldnt make as much.

Why do you guys
Come here anyways? I rarely see you give guys credits, and half the comments bag on other members of the team, and now Harris’ nice words aren’t even good enough for some of you miserable types. Hello? He had a negotiating stance, and as much as you babymen would like to hear him say that before negotiations are done, it could have cost him money.
Besides the obvious - Go Irish.
Z. He doesn't need an exclamation point. He is one.

Harris didn't bitch publicly during negotiations
He’s a classy guy and he is telling it like it is. I am glad to see at least one athlete with his head screwed on straight.
What does it matter if he said this before or after he signed his contract? It’s just his opinion, it doesn’t mean he wouldn’t get the money anyway or that he won’t play as hard. It’s the truth.
Lovie Smith-isms:
"We get off the bus running"
"Rex Grossman is our quarterback."
"...and we'll go from there."

unless
you count the last game against n.o. saints, we havent seen tommie harris dominate an entire game in awhile. I know the team paid him his value but hes gotta step it up this year and in a big way.
Im thinking MVP candidate not explosive break of the ball twice a game.
Every team and fan knows what hes capable of but hes still gotta prove he can stay relatively injury free for a whole season.

Tommy Harris is a pleasant surprise.
For once, a Bears player is making news for being insightful, not wasted.

its nice to see
a first round pick who isn’t a complete fuck up, let us review:
Rashaan Salaam- smoked more weed than willie nelson or snoop dogg combined
Curtis Enis- a great success… in the garage door business
Cade Mcnown- i would rather have Ryan Leaf at qb
Urlacher- not a fuck up but not looking good from this contract dispute
David Terrell- can catch a football about as well as helen keller
Marc Columbo- a quality starter… for the Cowboys
Michael Haynes- still a free agent… how can that be???
Grossman- waiting for him to blossom is like waiting for mark prior to get healthy
Benson- britney spears with shoulder pads, a fucking train wreck
next to names like these Tommie Harris deserves every dollar
