simms maybe in chicago

Bucs QB Chris Simms may be on the verge of receiving his year-long wish for an escape from Tampa, the way we hear it. Reports recently surfaced that the Cowboys were interested in trading for Simms to make him a backup to Tony Romo. Sources tell PFW the Bears and Lions have shown interest in acquiring the fifth-year veteran, as well. Word is there’s a good chance Simms will be with another team around the time training camp begins.

Makes sense with
What the Bears QB coach said on the Bears site the other day. His comments didn’t seem too confident in the two rookies competing for the third spot. If we do get Simms the team can feel better about the 3 spot and one of the rookies can get better on the practice squad.
Lovie Smith-isms:
"We get off the bus running"
"Rex Grossman is our quarterback."
"...and we'll go from there."

I've actually been speculating this move
for the last 2 months.
We seem like a very logical landing place for any of the Tampa QB rejects (right now Gruden is carrying 5 QBs). Simms still is a bit of an unproven commodity with some starting experience and potential left… so, he would be a great fit for us as a 3rd QB… and provide even more competition.
I'm not going to even bother trying to update this sig everyday anymore... that's what the standings column on ESPN is for.

maybe.
I support it if for no other reason that there’s no better FA’s available but I hope people don’t think this somehow solves any problems.
