Chris Willams Hurt?
Bears rookie tackle signed his contract just hours before training camp opened and just hours into day 2, he got hurt.
Rookie left tackle Chris Williams walked off the field under his own power. It appeared to be an injury to his lower back or right leg.
Hopefully it is not that serious, but we will have to wait.
(thanks to
UPDATE: IT IS BEING REPORTED THAT IT IS JUST A CASE OF BACK SPASMS AND SHOULDN'T KEEP HIM OUT LONG.

Ouch
Hopefully it’s not serious. It’s always a bitch seeing players getting injured on the first few days of training camp.

No worries
the Bears spent the offseason shoring up an old and useless O-line….
oh wait…

Hopefully this isn't bad
Rotoworld on the sidebar says it was a stiff back. The last thing we need is a first round offensive lineman with a stiff back at age 24. Marc Columbo 2.0?
Bold Prediction: Orton will be the starter in week 1.

Maybe the Bears will stick w/ this one...
...and they won’t be in such big trouble again in four years.

Why don't you just bump the fanposts/shots over...
...w/ your own editorial comment like any other SBNation blog? On this one, you gave a thanks, but often times you don’t.

Traffic mostly.
I still wrestle with it, but for big news items Google News and a lot of other sites that pick up our stuff currently will not pick up Fan Posts.
I do plan on bumping up other types of Fan Posts, but those are still getting used for quick posts that should go under Fan Shots and are not always in a decent format to promote.

but...
... if you bump to the front page, don’t they become front page posts rather than fan posts?

From what I have been told, currently they do not
they are still treated differently. I was told the plan was for them to count, but I don’t know when that will be the case.
But yes, I am more than willing to move them to front page, so long as they not jumbled paragraphs and links are added.

Hmm...
... that is odd. When you bump fan posts to the front page, do they show up in the RSS feed?
But I do agree with your second part about not promoting poorly written fan posts.

I promoted the one you wrote about Hester
I am going to track it on the normal places that pick up my feed to see if they go through.
One of the big changes with the new platform was the addition of Fan Posts and Fan Shots. Fan shots are supposed to be those little 1-2 sentence comments or the Green Bay Sucks shouts, but they are not getting used as such, my guess is because they are a bit hidden under the Fan Posts. With the Fan Posts on the other hand they were hoping by leaving in a max character rule, it would cause people to really think out their post and put something well written together that I could move up. That has been hit or miss.
All readers also have the option of clicking on the REC (Recommend) at the bottom of a post and if enough choose it it would move up as a featured post and based on that I could promote the popular posts, but nobody has really used the REC yet, so I haven’t been able to use that option.
