For the love of football, please pay Hester.

Star-divide

The guy single-handedly won a number of games for the Bears, by being the only threat of scoring.  Two Pro Bowls in two years. He deserves more than 450k a year! That is a joke! Not only is he one of the most dynamic players on the team, he is one of the faces of the franchise, perhaps the only positive one offensively.

Seriously, with the way the Bears offense played last year, I'd do the same strategy the coach did in the movie the Waterboy to beat Adam Sandler's team. Get a lead and then each possession kneel 3 times and punt, because without Hester and the Bear's defense on the field that eliminates pretty much most of the Bear's scoring abilities.

Ask Denny Green what he thinks, I bet if he did that strategy 2 years ago the Cards would have won that game and ESPN and sports radio would not have been blessed with that classic rant.

"Devin Hester is not who we thought he was!! So we let him run a punt back!"

I will say he is not going about this the right way, he is not helping his cause by skipping camp, I'm sure 15k a day will hurt on his itty bitty salary.

But for the love of football and all that is holy, please pay Devin Hester. Because we all know the Bears need him, and frankly he needs to be in camp! He needs all the work he can get to become a good wide receiver, let alone an elite #1 receiver. Catching a slant, an out, or any other route in traffic is a lot tougher then catching floating kickoff and punt. Being fast isn't the only thing needed to be a good receiver in the NFL.

hester knew from the beginning of the offseason that he was last

behind briggs, tommie harris and urlacher (and rightfully so)....urlacher was signed umm 3 freakin days ago??? not showin up to practice is absolutely inexcusable and unnecessary…of course he deserves the loot he’ll get, but holdin out can be costly to the team on the field (which should be hesters primary focus and let his agent take care of it) this simply isnt worth it…..especially since his deal is accordingly being dealt with…what a selfish, petty move by hester
