Matt Forte Signs

The Bears have signed second round running back out of Tulane, Matt Forte.

Terms are not disclosed, but it is a four year deal.

Forte finished his career at Tulane (2004-07) as the school’s all-time leader in rushing yards per game (99.2), rushing touchdowns (39), total touchdowns (44) and scoring among non-kickers (266 points). The 6-2, 216 pounder finished his Green Wave career ranked second in school annals in all-purpose yards (5,261), rushing yards (4,265), rushing attempts (833) and 100-yard rushing games (16). Forte is just the 11th player in NCAA Division I (Bowl Subdivision) history to rush for 2,000 yards in a season with 2,127 in 2007 which ranks seventh all-time in NCAA history.

This is very good

With the loss of Benson we needed this to be done so that there was NO CHANCE of a holdout and that he can now get to camp, distracted, compete and ideally, succeed. Hopefully Chris Williams will follow closely on the heels and we can have all our picks in camp on time and at least pat ourselves on the back for that, even if the team ends up stinking.

Lovie Smith-isms:
"We get off the bus running"
"Rex Grossman is our quarterback."
"...and we'll go from there."

character

Forte has alot of it….he knew the bears were pressed for a rb scince the release of ced “fukt in the head” benson, so he could had held out for prob the most money out of all the second rounders. He’d rather get into camp , get the reps with the first team and do his best to be the best that he can. KUDOS Matt “scoring touchdowns is my” Forte’.
