I HOPE Ron Turner is joking!
When asked if he would want Brett Favre on the Bears offense, he stated:
‘‘Not right now,’’ offensive coordinator Ron Turner said today when asked if he could envision the future first-ballot Hall of Famer in a Bears’ uniform this season. ‘‘Not with what we have. I like our quarterbacks. That’s not to say he’s not a great player, he’s one of the greatest players of all time. I love him. I love watching him. He’s a great player.
‘‘Not at this time and in this situation. We’ve got two good quarterbacks.’’

Um...So either he is joking and not wanting to release any information or he is completely CRAZY. He'd honestly pick Grossman and Orton over Favre? It amazes me that this guy still has a job.

I know
that our QB’s suck, but I don’t want Favre here anyway. He’ll just put up 2005 Brett Favre numbers, especially with what we would surround him with.

Get real!
Turner would be the first person to call Favre if he was traded to the Bears, and the first person to bid farewell to whomever was going to be the starter.

Seriosuly...
Packer or not Brett Favre is still a great quarterback. He is a gunslinger, with very similar characteristics to that of Rex Grossman. Rex is consistently compared to Brett with there styles of play. Obviously Brett has come a lot further, but I think if they could get Brett for a couple seasons it could only help Rex continue to come along. Most good franchise QBs, like Tom Brady, Matt Hasselback, Tony Romo all came along after being back ups. Rex has showed some flashes of greatness (and the opposite, obviously), but being around a Hall-of-Famer gunslinging QB can only help him with his leadership and decision making.

HAHAHAHAHA

That ended about Week 12 two years ago, bro.
but I think if they could get Brett for a couple seasons it could only help Rex continue to come along.
Give Rex a couple more seasons. Wait until he’s 29, then he’ll break out!
hahahahahaha

Rex won't be hear after next season if Farve comes.
Chances are if Brett were here for two season, Orton would leave as well.

with the way the pack of treated favre...
do you think he would be more willing to go within the division to maybe give them some payback. i know if somebody offered me money to stay retired and were dragging their feet id be alittle pissed too, but im not a hall of fame qb either.

the way the pack have treated favre?
what? they didn’t do shit. favre retired under his own willpower and then up and decides to come back and throw the pack into disarray.
i don’t get why people think the pack “owe” brett favre anything. sure, he did a lot for their franchise, but it isn’t like he wasn’t rewarded handily for his contributions.

well...
... being that if Turner said much more it would be considered tampering, I am pretty sure that Turner is saying exactly what he is supposed to be saying.
Attacking Turner for the quotes above decreases your credibility.

Agreed.
Chanman, would you rather he said “Brett Favre? HELL YEAH! I’ll take him any day over the piss-poor QB’s we have”? He could have either thrown his QB’s under the bus or take his original route. I’m glad he did the latter.

I'd rather him just say...
...”I can’t speak about the possibility of getting any other teams’ players. It’s against the rules.”

In a fairy tale world, sure, but he has to keep Kyle and Rex feeling good.
If they lose their confidence we’re screwed, because chances are we aren’t getting Brett. I know I would be ticked if I were Rex and signed a one year deal and might not get to play and definitely if I were Kyle and was told i would compete to start. Brett would start automatically and both those guys would be rightfully upset.

This is Bear talk all the way.
We love our guy. We have great players. We consider everything, but we are happy with what we have. It is all smoke screens.
Behind closed doors they’re foaming at the mouth and trashing our guys who stink. I understand why they put up the fake talk and I’m fine with it. If you are intelligent you can read between the lines most of the time.
