heaading out

to witness this debacle in a couple hours, hopefully it’s not a complete joke.

Is Monk playing today?

I don’t remember seeing him last week.

He played in the 4th Quarter

and last I heard he was likely to get cut. Too bad too, because if he was quicker there would be a spot for him I bet. I am looking forward to this game too I hope the offensive picture becomes more clear.

Bold Prediction: Orton will be the starter in week 1.

I cannot find the Radio Broadcast link

on ChicagoBears.com and WBBM only refers me to the Bears site, can someone help me out here?

Bold Prediction: Orton will be the starter in week 1.

by GallopingGhost on Aug 16, 2008 8:11 PM CDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I don't think they put them on the internet, just on the radio.

At least that is the way it is for regular season games.

No I found it

The listen live link is on Bears.com but now the channel says it isnt available.

Bold Prediction: Orton will be the starter in week 1.

Bennet dropped another pass he should of had at the first down marker.

Then the line let guys all over Rex instantly. 3 and out.

Really, God? You just had to take Desmond Clark….

I'm only gonna say this once...

…but you’re right. Our O-line is shit, and Brady couldn’t make us good. Still no excuse, because Rex is JA’s and LS’ “guy.” But you finally got it out of me.

I'M A MAN! I'M 22!

Sorry

I’m a stubborn asshole…..it’s the German/Bohemian in me. But I’ll admit when I’m wrong, and I was real wrong. I will never, and I mean never, let JA or LS off the hook for the shitty excuse of an O-line we have this year.

I'M A MAN! I'M 22!

Wait till our first OL goes down this year and a backup goes in.

Kruetz is suppose to not be fully healthy, man what if he or Tait went down?

by #23 on Aug 16, 2008 8:35 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I agree.

However, on the last drive and on the last two plays, he looked very flustered. The toss-up to Davis was a no-no, and the “intentional grounding” was a rookie mistake, although it looked iffy.

Ok, seriously

Is Ron Turner running our defense? We look awful.

Minus that pick...

…we haven’t been playing worth a shit. Hasselbeck isn’t that good to pick our zone all day.

it wouldn’t be quite as depressing…

I'm all for calling Grossman a mental midget...

…because at times, he doesn’t deserve to go out there. That last time, he got hit. But, to be fair, he should’ve seen it coming.

The way this is going

maybe JA, Lovie and Turner can all be canned before the regular season. At least then there isn’t anybody to stop somebody from bringing in a new QB.

This is a terrible game for our offense,

At least Lloyd looked good. Hopefully Hanie comes on again in this quarter.

Bold Prediction: Orton will be the starter in week 1.

Looks like JT O Sullivan will be starting for the Niners this year.

And we thought we had a bad QB situation. Ouch. And they drafted a #1 overall QB.

Thinking about

how we’re playing is making me mad. Let’s talk about something else:

Give me your offensive starters for week 1.

I’ll go first:

QB: Rex (has looked slightly better)
RB: Forte (if Jones is healthy, he might win the job, but he’s not)
WR1: Hester: (Turner’s got a lot riding on the hopes he can be a #1, not gonna happen imo)
WR2: Lloyd (has looked like the most impressive receiver in pre season)
LT: St. Clair (Oh please god no)
LG: Beekman (Youth is all he’s got going over Metcalf right now)
C: Kreutz (obv.)
RG: Garza ()
RT: Tait ()

That’s a pretty sad group, but I guess that’s the best we got.

I am like your Dan Aykroyd and biglow would be Jane, the ignorant slut. -Chad

by thecoolest on Aug 16, 2008 10:38 PM CDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Ok

QB: Orton (with this shotty line Grossman will kill us with sacks and turnovers, Orton will get the job because he makes less mistakes when getting tons of pressure. Grossman with protection has looked sharp on almost every pass tough)
RB: Forte (They’ll take it slow Jones, but he could start later in the season if he does well.)
WR 1: Hester (Samre reasons as yours. Also, Bears staff wants to look right on this decision to make Hester a receiver)
WR 2: Lloyd (Best receiver so far. Only guy to make any kind of play. Default.)
Same line, but Beekman because of Metcalf injury. Metcalf will get the job once he’s healthy.

OK

QB: Orton (Less mistakes)
RB: Forte (Same reasons)
WR 1: Lloyd (reliable so far)
WR 2: Booker (I think they want a veteran presence more than forcing Hester into the role, although they probably will)

Bold Prediction: Orton will be the starter in week 1.

by GallopingGhost on Aug 16, 2008 10:51 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I could see Hester starting so it looked good to the fans, but

Booker getting more plays. Everything with Jerry and Lovie seems to be proving that they were right and willing to put pride before wins.

Kick it to me... I'm open!

by #23 on Aug 16, 2008 10:52 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Not necessairly

They could but they won’t. They get 1 more year after this I say. However, if the QB situation doesn’t drastically change and they even talk about bringing back Grossman, then they should all lose their job.

Bold Prediction: Orton will be the starter in week 1.

by GallopingGhost on Aug 16, 2008 10:52 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I like Lovie and most of the time Jerry, but

Jerry really ticked me off with the poor effort in addressing the offensive line.

Ron Turner has probably hurt Lovie’s career more than anything. Does anyone else think that Lovie is being told what to do all the time by management? I don’t know if he makes all the decisions he talks about like Rex and Kyle and Greise last year and that stuff.

Kick it to me... I'm open!

Instead of possible starters how about chances of Hanie starting a game...

I’ll say 5:1 odds.

Bold Prediction: Orton will be the starter in week 1.

by GallopingGhost on Aug 16, 2008 10:49 PM CDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I would say 10:1

It would take injuries to both Bad QB 1 and Bad QB 2. They’re going to ride Rex/Kyle is our starting QB all year long. Their jobs are on the line.

Kick it to me... I'm open!

Name ATT YDS AVG TD
