Smith Suspended From Bears 2nd Game
Ahh, which Smith? No not Lovie, Steve Smith. As many have heard Steve Smith got into an altercation in practice that left Panther CB, Ken Lucas with a broken nose. Now Steve Smith is getting punished for his crime.
eceiver Steve Smith was suspended two games by the Carolina Panthers after a training camp fight with cornerback Ken Lucas.
Smith will miss the season opener at San Diego on Sept. 7 and the home opener the following Sunday against Chicago. He will not face any additional punishment from the league.
Could this be a sign that this year could be full of positive surprises. Last year everything went against us. Maybe the universe is trying to balance things out. We already got rid of Benson, maybe Grossman will lose the gross and just be a man this year. Maybe Mike Brown, will find a new herbal doctor that helps him stay healthy by channeling his inner strength. Maybe the Pack will release Brett Farve and have Aaron Rodgers break his elbow on Pat Williams rush up the middle knocks Pat unconscious and forces him into early retirement from a severe concussion. Who knows?
For now, I'm just glad one of the guys who has severely punished our team in the past will not be available for to haunt us this regular season.

Now our CB's
are going to have to focus on Father Time himself, Muhsin. This game looks somewhat winnable now.

Injuries
who knows how many colts will be out or out of sync during that first game, so yes it seems fate is all for us starting fast. And starting fast is everything in our division. See you in the playoffs my friend

Yeah, I totally forgot about that!
You have the Colts who have lots of energies, the Pack have lots of controversy, and the Panthers lose their number 1 and really only receiver. We’re just getting started here.

Full Strength
I want every team to be at full strength when we play them. If they’re not, it’s a hollow victory. If we want to win championships, we need to beat teams when they’re at their best to prove we’re the best. I want Smith on that field when we play them.

I Would Normally Agree With You
But I would only consider beating the teams at their best to prove we’re the best in the Playoffs. ANY POSSIBLE WAY the Bears can make it to the playoffs is fine by me. In ‘06 they questioned our strength of schedule yet we still made it deep into the Playoffs. It’s all about GETTING there and what you do when you DO get there. I would be happy if every team we play on our schedule this year turned out to miss the Playoffs and gave us an easy road to the Playoffs. Again, normally I would agree with you, but the regular season is all about ensuring a spot in the Playoffs and once you do, what road you will have to take to get there. (home field/1st round bye, etc.)

KICK'EM WHEN THEY'RE DOWN
If every team is at full strength when we play them, we’re not gonna win a game. I don’t care how you win, as long as you get it done. Oh and btw, we’re not the best so there’s nothing to prove. Yay!

A win is a win
If they were to win it all I wouldn’t give two shits if Steve Smith played in week two. It’s not a hollow victory it’s the luck of the draw, play who’s on the schedule with whoever they bring. A win over a team short one man does not bother me. It happens. A W is always better than an L I don’t care that they don’t bring everyone, not our fault, not our problem. Win it. Move on.

I'm sure New England is disappointed about drawing the easiest schedule in the league.

why?
Why make it to the playoffs if we can’t win it all? If we can beat them then, we can beat them now. We shouldn’t be in the business of accepting charity to get what we don’t deserve. If we can’t beat the Panthers with Steve Smith then we can’t beat a lot of other teams. So making it to the playoffs is pointless, it just gets us lower draft picks.

I would be proud to make the playoffs this season
I would rather root for the Bears this season and see them win 9 or 10 games, then root for them this season and see them win 6. That’s just me, but I enjoy the season more in years we win and make the playoffs then years we miss the playoffs.

Yikes
bs1220: Why make it to the playoffs? Experience. Even if we know we have a real small chance of winning it all, it still would give our players big-time experience in a big-time game. I suppose you were one of those fans last year that wanted us to tank our last couple games so we could get a better draft pick? Nothin wrong with that, but I felt 10 times better about the season after we stomped GB at home in the fashion that we did.
23: Agreed. When the Bears are having a good winning season, it seems that everything’s right in the world.I'M A MAN! I'M 22!

I'm glad to agree somewhere. Whew!
I watch the games win or lose and my season is more fun when winning.
