That sucks

after hearing all the great stuff about Monk, it sucks to see him released. I wish they could have given him more time on the field during pre-season to see if he was any good.

I am like your Dan Aykroyd and biglow would be Jane, the ignorant slut. -Chad

Kinda surprised

They didn’t want him as a practice-squad player.

yeah,a guy that big and fast

hard not to be hopeful.

i guess they value haas’ ability to catch any ball thrown to him the rare time he can get open. (unless he’s already gone and i missed it)

Two words:

Brandon Rideau.

6’3", 198, and has impressed in camp. The Bears won’t miss Monk.

Don't know

But if running fast was the only necessity for being a great receiver, Monk would have been drafted a lot earlier than he was.

I guess we are really banking on Hester huh?

sarcasm/ Either that, or Usain Bolt had better have some pretty good hands. /sarcasm

Don't question my choice of teams, or I will have to go all troll on you.

They say Monk was too slow

But man he was a big target. I hope they resign him to the Practice Squad after waivers clear.

This is a surprise to me...

This dude was a beast in college until he got hurt. Sure, he’s slow compared to other receivers, but he’s a big target that would be perfect for the short fade into the end zone.

Bear Down, Chicago Bears!

Hope they sign him to the practice squad

Marcus Monk apparently isn’t completely healed up from his knee surgeries, so he couldn’t contribute on special teams and fell victim to the numbers game at WR. I was hoping they’d sign him to the PS, which I suppose is still a possibility unless another team signs him. There was a lot of interest in him as an UFA after the draft and I expect a team desperate for receiver talent, like the TN Titans, might still sign him since he starred in the SEC before his injuries and they probably had a lot of opportunities to scout him. I still have a gut feeling we’ll be hearing about him down the road.

7th Round Bust?

Happens all the time. What’s telling is that ANOTHER WR was cut along with him, and they have 22 more cuts to make. Clearly, he simply wasn’t getting the job done in their estimation, and/or they’re happy enough with the others to make the drop now.

Besides the obvious - Go Irish.

Z. He doesn't need an exclamation point. He is one.

Williams

Take a look at the sun-times article about the Bears knew Williams had a herniated disc and still drafted him at 14. what kind of bonehead idea was that. It’s one thing if they didn’t know, it’s quite another if they knew it and risked the franchise on a roll of the dice. Is far as i am concerned Angelo and Lovie need to go and so does Grossman. We need to clean house.

How the hell did they cut Rod Wilson?

He has a broken arm! Doesn’t he have to be placed in IR per the rules of the players union?

I'm not going to even bother trying to update this sig everyday anymore... that's what the standings column on ESPN is for.

Not waived

I believe WCG meant Wilson was put on IR. It’s a de facto cut, as he won’t take up a roster spot, but he’ll be back next year.

Wilson was waived

Take a look at this link and go to the third question:
