Bob Babich is one ugly dude!

He’ll give you that evil eye. Of course only one will be looking at you.

St. Clair let his guy through and Kyle couldn't follow through on a throw to the deep left.

He threw way short do to the pressure and lack of space. i think Kyle is partly to blame, but St. Clair just had 2 straight offside penalties a couple plays earlier.

Damnit, we need to step it up!

So are first team defense is giving up points on almost every drive.

Cleveland, Seattle, and San Francisco have tore us up. At least we were able to figure out how to stop the worst team in the league.

yeah man

that’s disheartening to hear. I wish I could watch the game to have a better idea of how we really are. Oh well. Come the regular season, I’m not missing a game.

OOOOOO, Orton was super scared!

He just ditched the ball without even looking at the RB. Missed him by 5 yards.

That's it for the starters huh?

Way to go into the regular season on a positive note

shitty deal...

Yeah, what the fuck happened to the defense? Sure, a few starters sat out, but our core players are in tact. What is going on? I really hope this is just a preseason funk

Well, maybe we'll get some good news from this game....

maybe Rexy will step up. With our porous line, it would be nice to have a solid backup

Bear Down, Chicago Bears!

Line is giving him plenty of time right now and he looks comfortable.

It stinks he gets frazzled so often, but when he’s not frazzled he’s very accurate.

poor Rexy...

he’s had such a tough career.

On an unrelated note, am I the only one extremely excited for the Illinois/Missouri game this Saturday?

That'a boy Rexy...

throw a TD pass. Sure, it was against reserves but you need to start somewhere to get that confidence back

that'd be cool

he does look good.

is anyone else pissed by the fact that rex didnt play in the 2 minute o. lovie trying to avoid a qb talk…again.

and kyle should have never thrown that ball to lloyd that got picked. clair got beat off the snap.

how good does Mark Bradley look? i think him and hester should be 1 and 2.

Just got out of class....

What’s been happening? All my parents have been able to tell me is that “Hanie is really good!”. I responded to that with patience, but what’s been happening in a nutshell?

I'M A MAN! I'M 22!

by ChiFan13 on Aug 28, 2008 8:06 PM CDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

some good and not so good

d gave up a field goal and a td in 2 series.

orton got hit and threw a pick. rex drove 95 yds and score to rideau. caleb scrambled and threw every of the 6 passes to mark bradley. he threw a nice pass to bradley and got called back.

by rahulsriram on Aug 28, 2008 8:10 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Here goes.

Orton did fine. Made one bad play, but was being pressured by a bad St. Clair block.
St. Clair had 2 straight offsides.
Orton through lots of passes to Lloyd.
Bradley has played well.
D was horrible. Can’t stop the run at all.
Hanie has been phenomenal, till that pick.
OL has been overall good.
Rex made one overthrow on a deep pass but played very well.
Jones and Forte did ok, but nothing too special. Forte did better than Jones.
Wolfe has been returning kicks and looks very fast but gets knocked down by the slightest touch.
That’s about it. Not much to write home about.

Kick it to me... I'm open!

What's the deal with the D?

Bad tackling, bad schemes?

I'M A MAN! I'M 22!

by ChiFan13 on Aug 28, 2008 8:16 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Two questions

1) Does the D look better? Tackling, coverage, etc.

2) Was this Hanie’s best performance so far?

I'M A MAN! I'M 22!

by ChiFan13 on Aug 28, 2008 8:12 PM CDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

d did look better, first drive..n vasher missed a pick but there a still some run stopping issues, especially with counters.

hanie was good in 2 minute drive, again passing every ball to bradley. he just got picked badly in 3rd.

and forte caught a screen ball on 3rd and 17 and made just a sick cut and got the first. kids gonna be a star.

by rahulsriram on Aug 28, 2008 8:16 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Looks like Wolfe is doin good things on that swing pass

And Hanie just had a spot-on throw. I like what I’m seeing offensively, but I’m nervous about the D after hearing all the things you and #23 have said…..

I'M A MAN! I'M 22!

wolfe

had a good kick return earlier.

hes so fast and i hear hes playing with a bad hammy.

by rahulsriram on Aug 28, 2008 8:22 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

The one knock I have about Wolfe

…is what #23 brought up: He gets knocked over by a stiff wind. Besides that, he’s quick and agile. I like him.

I'M A MAN! I'M 22!

by ChiFan13 on Aug 28, 2008 8:26 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

word

i like him too, but i have a feeling his role might be even more deminished with what forte showed on 3rd and 17 on the first series. after watching cedric benson for a year, i think i just got used to watching bad play from that position. i thnk lovies on to something with forte.

by rahulsriram on Aug 28, 2008 8:30 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Well, that's not all bad

As long as we have good RB play this year, I won’t complain. Having Forte, Jones, AP, and Wolfe is a luxury IMO. Hopefully it can turn into something this year, instead of the wishing we did last year.

I'M A MAN! I'M 22!

by ChiFan13 on Aug 28, 2008 8:36 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

speaking of ap

he made his case for that second spot behind forte tonight.

by rahulsriram on Aug 28, 2008 8:38 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

How did AP and Jones do?

That’s pretty impressive if AP’s beating out KJ…

I'M A MAN! I'M 22!

by ChiFan13 on Aug 28, 2008 8:39 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

yeah in my opinion he has

ap i think had 40 yds on 5/6 carries and jones had 2 carries that i remember that went nowhere.

by rahulsriram on Aug 28, 2008 8:42 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Fair enough

I’m surprised KJ didn’t have a better outing….I was looking forward to seeing him on the field this year.

I'M A MAN! I'M 22!

by ChiFan13 on Aug 28, 2008 8:49 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Well, this would be to rahulsriram, since we're the only two on tonight

Lil debate for ya after listening to the game: Do you keep Hanie on the practice squad (and risk losing him) or keep him as one of the 53?

I'M A MAN! I'M 22!

by ChiFan13 on Aug 28, 2008 8:59 PM CDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

keep him on the practice squad

hes good and i think will be good, but if kyle goes down, i dont know if im comfortable yet with him being a backup. i think signing another vet is probably the safe move, given the unpreditcable o line that is blocking for our qbs.

by rahulsriram on Aug 28, 2008 9:30 PM CDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

from the sounds of it....

keep him. Plus, I think the chances of one of our other two QBs getting injured is fairly high

Bear Down, Chicago Bears!

haha my bad....

I meant that I think we should keep him as part of the 53

i wonder what it would

have looked like tonight if anderson and b edwards lined up for the browns….bring on the colts!
