Around SBN: How Not To Criticize Tom Brady For The Patriots' Loss

Bears Keep Rideau in the Mix...At least for now

The Bears have filled two more of their remaining three rosters spots.  They have signed wide receiver Brandon Rideau and full back Jason Davis to the practice squad.

Rideau, who spent parts of the past two seasons on the Bears’ practice squad, was waived Saturday during final cuts.

Davis, who played at Illinois for Bears offensive coordinator Ron Turner, was cut Saturday by the Philadelphia Eagles. Davis joined the Eagles in 2006 as an undrafted free agent, spending his rookie season on injured reserve with a torn ACL and the 2007 campaign on the practice squad.

Rideau has shown some talent and I would not be surprised that he doesn't get picked up by some team at some point in the season.

Ravens Signed Harrington

I know they also brought in Simms for a look so maybe the Bears are next on his list?

haha

because in a league where rex grossman/kyle orton can be starters there is absolutely no hope for a guy like chris simms.

Have you seen our offense lately?

Does it strike you as “high-powered?”

Simms will be a journeyman starter/reserve for the rest of his career unless he awakens and shows that he’s just awesome.

he had

a pretty nice career starting in tampa, the ruptured spleen that threatened his life was a pretty serious setback. hard to say what he will turn out to be now that he hasn’t played in over a year and a half, and a journeyman starter is better than what we have at the position now which includes 1 guy who will probably be out of football after this year (grossman) and another guy who will most likely be a 2nd or 3rd string qb forever (orton).

and good move

on keeping rideau, he seems like he is a pretty decent talent and i would hardly be surprised if booker/lloyd/bradley/bennett don’t work out.
